    Hi my friend,

I got in 2007 a BAD Fs-12ss Engine from Tamiya and its now broken ! my bad !

I saw in the 2015 forum that you said to another fs12ss owner, that he can change the engine to a OS 18TZ, is it true, do you have other cheap engine that i can change with ?

Thank you a lot my friend !

    Hi Geezatec.
Yes all is solved with a new one from Amain. They figured it was faulty.
    Thanks for your followup.

i'm not sure if it's a tuned pipe. i actually don't know how to tell the difference. i remember reading about it, but forget. i took some pics of the exhaust, and was gonna email them too you. i did notice in the pics that the gasket looks to be a little uneven. after what you said about impact's exhaust being a pain, it's got me thinking that may be the problem.

Impact exhaust always a problem. Installing it is a pain. You have make sure you install the ring evenly and straight. Are you using a tuned exhaust manifold? Long or short?

so it seems like i'm good with fuel. it sounds like you like O'donnel. the engine i'm using the heli fuel in, is a heli engine. that's why. it's a thunder tiger .70.

as for the exaust manifold on the serpent, it almost seems that it is the wrong (too small) one for that block. the gasket is nice and snug on the manifold, but i still get exaust leaking out when engine is running. it seems like the manifold with gasket doesn't sit in there properly. i have the spring on it and all, and it feels like plenty of tension. i've trying many different exaust gaskets, and the seemingly best one is installed now. can i just add an "o-ring"? i'm not racing it or anything (as you know), i barely operate at all. it's just soooo loud with the exaust leak, and it's hard to shut down.--i usually shut the engines off by covering the pipe with my finger. when i do this with the serpent, exaust is just forced out around the gasket. what do ya think about all this dude?? later.

hi E. the one engine i must use heli fuel. the TTR ek4 monster truck/buggy thing. so i have Morgan 30% heli, high oil content. after that jug runs out, i have a gallon of Magnum heli 30% (any good?). the other engines i've been using Traxxas 20% (apparently has high oil). not much traxxas fuel left, but i have a new jug of O'donnel 20%, that i bought last fall (supposedly has less oil in it than traxxas). what do you think of these fuels? i also have a question about the exaust manifold and gasket for my serpent we've talked about. talk to ya later dude!
