To me, all the food is the ultimate attraction. A lot of info can be obtained from the hotel staff. They are very helpful and friendly. They also provide free shuttle service to the night pasar malam at the northern beach, also pretty near to Hydro Majestic. Go check it out. Hope all the info is useful to you. Pretty near the hotel Hydro majestic, U can reach the famous Gurney Drive (approx 5-10 Mins on taxi, not very $$$). Btw, Taxi there dun really run on meter( if i never remember wrongly) so pls check before u board. Generally quite reasonable, not cheater. Gurney Drive is a must go, the hawker centre something like newton circus but alot cheaper,
U will find loads of good penang food. Over there u will also find the new shopping centre known as Gurney Plaza. Quite big and good shopping and pretty popular with the locals and tourists. As for the Komtar towers in the city, u can give it a miss. Some other tourist attractions are the Kek Lok Si Temple ( also a lot of shopping there, Pasar Malam kind). If u visit the temple, then must go to Ayer Itam to eat the penang laksa there. It's the famous store in the penang. Its just located near the foot of the temple. Just ask the locals ard there at the temple for directions.

It's located at Batu Ferringhi Beach, between the popular northern beach and the city. If I am not wrong, they do provide free shuttle service to the city centre. Just walking distance from the city centre where they drop u at Komtar Towers, u will reach the famous Chinatown. There u will find the famous Penang Street where the famous Chendol u must try. Along Mcallister Road, U will find famous penang laksa, Penang Cha Kway Teow and the Dao Sa Bian ( Red Bean Biscuit).
