...So those shells are for placing your car into a showcase in the moment, not for racing on the track. In order to realize this in racing we would need deeper front suspensions, -but I doubt it would bear the forces-, flatter electronics and independent rear suspensions, with only the wheels working a bit (against the Pro10 rules).

Surely one could design a chassis fitting below such a shell, but it would not be suitable for racing but for show-driving. But this is not only a problem in Pro10, it is the same in 1/8 nitro racing...

    Best Regards

...The problem with the more up to date body styles in 1/1 LMP racing really is that they are too slim and too deep to realize on our existing technics of a Pro10 car chassis. That matches your experiences.

When Mon Tech came up with their very good looking shell, we tried something similar, but in order to make it work on the track, we had to blow it up in the front area for the front suspension work freely, a stabilizer bar in the center would have been impossible, we had to raise it on the sides for speedo-airflow, not to mention a cooling fan on it, had to make the entire rear portion higher to let the powerpod and dampers do their job.
The proportions went out of everything and we cancelled our plans, as it would have looked more ugly as a Lola. ;-)

... I for myself prefer to drive this Porsche or the Nissan GTP in the modified class here in Germany, when I participate once on 2 or 3 years ;-( , just for the optics, and cause I'm only battling not to be the last on the grid, just for the fun...

Concerning the 200mm bodies: If the 78224 Porsche is allowed in your races, you'll definitely won't find a better body with separate wing. Nearly all drivers in Czech, Poland, Austria or Switzerland, who have to use a body with separate wing, choose this one.
If you want to try a body with integrated wing the mentioned 78222 Porsche is a very good, well balanced body, similar to the 78224 but more stable all around. Quite a bit more nervous but with more agressive steering is the Pole Nissan 78221. This depends on the drivers taste.

    Dear pphaneuf,

don't let yourself be confused by selfdeclared body-specialists ;-) in the thread.

The Lola as well as the VIP VPL body do have much downforce as well in the front as in the rear, otherwise they wouldn't get around any corner in open modified. Of course we do design the bodies to have a good balance between front and rear...

The no Lola rule is like Joost said. Bodies of the type Lola or now also the VPL were used in wide 1/10 gas car racing in the past, like Serpent Impact or similar. This led to an unisono looking body style in this class. The makers of the Pro10 10.5 class in the Netherlands just tried to avoid that with this rule to have more good- and different looking bodies in their races.

But they also drive the wide Porsche 962, which also was a body from the 1/10 nitro class in the past.
