Any experience with this type of league and have any sage advice?
Should I go with Lipo or Nimh batteries (this is for new racers who do not own the cars)?
    Will 4 trucks be enough?
How many battery packs and chargers do I need?
What spare parts should I have on hand as these trucks will be run in every heat and race? I also live in a small town and parts will not be readily available on race day.
I want Christ to be the main focus, any advice on doing this (maybe have devotion time at first, ask questions and let those who answer pick their cars first)?

None of the youth have vehicles, but I think the knowledge learned from the hobby can be valuable in life. If even one person comes to race, hears the gospel, and accepts Jesus as their Savior, then it will all be worth it. If this is to be successful I will need plenty of help from my church and anyone else. I am wide open for suggestions and I thank You for your help.

Hello, I was told to contact you by a fellow forum member (jmackani). I've posted a question in the racing forum but you might be able to give some advice as well. Here is my original post:
I used to be heavily into R/C racing when I was younger. I learned quite a bit from the hobby, electronics, building of vehicles, soldering, etc., and I carried those skills into life. I loved my time in the hobby and would like to share that experience with the youth in my area. I am wanting to start a youth racing league at my church. We have a large outdoor area that will be perfect for building a track. I can make the track asphalt, gravel, dirt, or any mixture of the three. I have already purchased two used trucks, a Traxxas Slash and a RC10T 4.1. I'm looking at adding two more Traxxas Slash's and starting racing. I have found a source for new Traxxas Slash's at cost, and I am paying for this mostly out of my own pocket.
I have some questions and looking for advice.

Is there still any racing going on in Richfield? I am getting back into the hobby after a 20 year hiatus. I'd like to get with a good group of people in the Windfield/central PA area and have some fun.
