maxamp 3s on 1/8th scale?

im building a lightweight setup 1/8 buggy for indoor tight clay racing and want to use 3s instead of 4s. after slightly following the whole 3s 4x4 slash fire thread im a little hesistant, but thought id ask anyway.
hyper 9e
tekin 2650 combo
would like to get roughly 15-20 mins.

will i run into battery related problems w/ this setup? if not what would you recommend? i just assumed a 3s 5250 would be good enough

thanks!

Just my 2 cents but usring the Tekin 2650kv combo will be waaaaayyyyy over powering the buggy you should look at the 1900kv or 1700kv combo. Just a refenence for you I have the associated RC8Te Truggy with the Tekin 2250kv combo and that is even alot of power for the Truggy it is wheel on comand witch is fun but not functional..lol. Ithnk the 1700kv or the 1900kv with 3s batt on a buggy is plenty of snuff to race and be very competive. But again just my 2 cents good luck on what ever you chose.

Actually a 2650 on 3S is pretty close to perfect. Higher KV motors perform better on lower voltage. My 2650 in My buggy is pretty wild on 4S but on 3S I can rattle off more constant lap times and stay in control a lot better. Whether your hard on a pack or not depends all on the gearing you choose. Don't try a lower KV motor on 3S they simply just are not meant to run on less than 4S.
