Just throwing this out there,
Head count on a TCS spec Mini Class?

Legal chassis platforms: M03, M05, M05 V2 and M06

Motor Rules: You MUST use the REEDY 21.5 MACH 3 motor for this class. (Part #253) Note: YOU MAY ONLY use the included rotor and stator. The output shaft has the number 273 etched on it for easy identification during post tech inspection. https://www.teamassociated.com/parts/details/253-ASC253-reedy_sonic_540-m3_motor_21_5_spec/ The same motor will be used for the 2017 season.

Timing Rules: Physical motor timing is allowed. However, you may not go beyond the manufacturer’s maximum timing mark.

No BOOST ESC (Electronic Speed Control) rules: Any ROAR legal and approved ESC may be used capable of “Blinky-Mode”. These ESC’s must not use electronic timing (boost). See General Rules for ROAR approved “blinky” ESC list.

Tamiya internal gears only. Aftermarket idler and spur gears are not legal.

All M-chassis cars must meet a minimum weight of 1300 grams.

Spec Tire rules:
A-grip hard insert #1029
A-grip soft insert #1028
S-grip tire #1016
(Kit tires would likely be ok for club racing, may not be the fastest though).

My Body is going to be painted this week...

I enjoy M chassis racing but I am concerned about the restrictions you have placed on this class. To require racers to use only one motor from one manufacture is too restrictive. M class racers all ready have 21.5 ROAR legal motors they own.Why the need to spend $90.00 for a new motor?Certainly you don't want to turn away racers with brushed Johnson motor/brushed esc setups, either. The same argument against a spec tire rule tires is valid.ABC Hobbies Grid cars should be allowed to compete with Tamiya M cars.I understand your desire for a level playing field but your proposed rules will severely limit participation.

Those are TCS rules. You can take this car to any TCS race in the country and compete with other cars that have to adhere to the exact same rules.

Running silver cans with 21.5 mini doesn't work, it's been tried before. Same thing with ABC cars.

Racing will never be cheap. No matter what class you run.

Hobbytown,Oshkosh races mini class with less restrictive rules.I will race there.I hope you have a successful mini season.

I'm glad no one is flying kites, there's a lot of wind and not much else.

liljohn1064 11-07-2016 07:39 AM

WGT-R was raced on Sunday.

Reality, we need more racers and a higher level of commitment or the program will fail. We need to either race every Sunday or put up a dedicated schedule so those who can't commit can plan their schedules accordingly. If we can't muster a race for Sunday prior to Saturday night, offroad will be told NOT to pull the jumps on Saturday night.

Guys I won't be there this Sunday. I will be out of town for work.

Thanks Vue! I know Stan is also out.

That leaves: Tim, John W, John C, Cesar, Chris, Jeff and myself with Chad and and potentially more promising to show up. Let's not screw the pooch!

liljohn1064 11-14-2016 09:44 AM

We raced WGT-R: 1) John W. 2) Tim M. 3) John H. 4) Jeff G.

Jeff is out for Hunting next Sunday. John H. is out of town for a family event.

Classes running this Sunday @ 1 PM are USGT with sedan tires (Sorex 28 I believe) and WGT-R 13.5 blinky.

ajcavanah 01-30-2017 10:24 AM

What class are you running ??? WGT ??
What chassis is everyone running ?
How many guys in class ?

v_squared 01-30-2017 11:06 AM

We are running USGT and GTR. As you know USGT is just 21.5 4wd sedan with sorex 28 tires and GT bodies. You can paint some killer bodies.

GTR is 13.5 1S with 200mm pan car chassis.

Motors and batteries must be roar legal.

Usgt sounds fun , but expensive . Gtr sounds like fun , but maybe on its way out . If I can find a used 4 wheel drive chassis Usgt would be the way to go . If I have time Tuesday night I'll stop in .
