Haha alright.

What days are you working on it?

v_squared 04-29-2015 06:40 PM

I'm thinking this Friday from 3 to 5pm.

Nice pics Vue, especially the first one.

We'll have to finish the rest of the ground breaking soon.

I'm leaning towards the XV-01 at this point. The drivetrain looks really well protected!

It seems to be the cheaper of the name brand rally cars. We'll soon see how it will hold up.

I think any of the tub touring car should be good for rally. Such as TC3, TC4 and TB03, TB04.

It would be cool to run tamiya mini rally as well.

Shopping through the 1/10, 190-200mm, touring car selection for rally doesn't take very long... There is only a couple viable options that I see as far as protected drivetrain and purpose built for rally, the Tamiya tt01e, xv01, df03ra and the Kyosho Fazer.

Starting to wonder if the larger, what appear to be 4WD shortcourse based, rally cars might be the better option?

The list is a bit longer for that option:
Losi TEN Rally, Associated ProRally, Kyosho DRX VE, Traxxas Rally, Vaterra RallyCross, HPI Rally, HobbyKing Basher BSR Rally.

Protoform even came out with a body to serve the market, the PFRX Rallycross.

Thoughts?

The HobbyKing Basher is 190mm width. The drivetrain is not protected. There is an easy way to protect the drivetrain. You just need to make a covering that goes over the tub.

Nice pic!

Yeah the Basher RZ-4 is the kit I was telling you about on Tuesday. It has parts support, hopups, and is purpose built. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...bled_Kit_.html I was shying away from it because of the unprotected drivetrain, but I guess some time and lexan could cure that. I guess I was getting lazy just wanting to buy something ready to go lol. Thanks for the redirect ;).

So are you thinking 21.5T sensored still? I found a HK waterproof sensored esc I'd like to try. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...red_Only_.html

celt 04-30-2015 11:43 AM

hey?

Where do I pass everyone on that layout?

I need to pass people...

v_squared 04-30-2015 11:58 AM

21.5 should be a good starting point for us.

I will increase the width of the track. It will be very sweet when it's done. Just wait. I can't part water like Moses but I can move dirt.

There will definitely be room to pass on more then half of the track. We just need to retain some narrow areas or it wouldn't be a scale rally course at that point.
