Default 2012/13 Indoor Carpet Racing

We are beginning our search for a building for the upcoming indoor carpet season. If you personally know someone who owns an empty warehouse or industrial building or have a friend of a friend who has such a facility, please get in contact with Walt or myself. Ideally we need 6000-8000 square feet. The area we would prefer, would be no further north than Deforest, no further west than Middleton, no further east than Lake Mills and no further south than Oregon. We have had our most success when talking to building owners. We have had no luck in speaking to property management firms or brokers. We need to speak to the building owner directly. With the diverse group of racers we have participating in our indoor program, somebody knows somebody who knows somebody that owns the type of facility we need. As SOON as we can secure a building, we will start the construction of the carpet track. A September start date would not be out of the question. You can email Walt from a link on the marcca.com page, or my email is [email protected].

Craig is absolutely correct. We have always got the best results by knowing someone who knows someone. Talk it up with everyone you know. There are no bad leads. Sometimes things work out even when the first response is no.

I am itching to get back on the trigger indoors and will be returning to action as soon as we roll out the rug.

I am on the outside looking in on this subject, but why is that too far? Let's just say a building was found in the distance that you are looking in. if a building was found in Lake Mills, the travel time from the current building would be roughly 45 minutes, to Oregon and Deforest 35 minutes. So why is a 20 minute drive to Sauk City any different?

I understand having a location in the Madison area is a good idea for a centralized location, but with Sauk City area, there would be a good chance of the Baraboo/Reedsburg racers to race, if they still have their onroad cars.

Jason, Thanks for your input. We are attempting to locate within a 15-20 minute drive of the intersection of I-94 and I-90. Middleton location was already a stretch of that goal. Early in the search and Sauk City may be an option if other opportunities dont present themselves.

Will people be running 12th scales this winter, or just Sedans for the most part?

If you are going to entertain the thoughts of a spec tire why not choose one that a person can get locally and/or mail order rather than always having to mail order? Just something to think about.

Kind of joking on the HK spec tire, but at $6 a set, who knows? Just have a big group purchase and have lots of spares for handouts for out of towners.
