Most of the onroad guys are the ones racing mini-z. Racing is Friday nights.

New miniz is out going for around 120 or so ready to run. If interested we can run box stock class, allowing only bearing hopups. This will be the cheap class to run. Mini z racing is every Friday from 5 to 8pm.

Which ones are $120? I thought they started at like $280 with the radio?

I may have to pick one of those up. With MARCCA still looking for a home, I've been jonesing for some RC racing.

Kremzeek 01-02-2018 05:15 PM

I finally broke down and bought one for stock racing.

v_squared 01-04-2018 10:43 AM

Sweet. Are you going to be there this Friday? We should have a stock class. Come early if you need help tuning the car. I will be more than happy to help.

I won't make it out there tonight. Probably next week though. My charger still hasn't shown up yet and I need to buy some batteries and one of those circuit packs. Gotta prep for the next Tamiya race too so its gonna be a busy week. ;)

Anyone know what the difference is between the FRP and carbon t-plates? They are both available in soft, hard, etc so does it come down to durability?

v_squared 01-06-2018 09:17 AM

Frp t-plate is fiber glass and is kind of translucent. It's about the same stiffness as the small carbon for side to side but a bit softer up and down. I think we all are using the small carbon t-plate from the circuit pack. I have plenty of batteries and an extra charger so you could have raced.

Which tamiya race are you going to?

Thank's for the explanation. That's probably the best I've seen.

I picked up some batteries, a new body and some parts to convert mine to MM today. I haven't even raced and already investing lots of money.

My family does the Tamiya Mini 4wd races at Tracks Hobbies. It's a lot of fun. The next race is going to be nuts will all the kids from the classes coming.

v_squared 01-06-2018 11:03 PM

Ah I see. Well good luck and have fun on the next Tamiya mini race.

Does anyone have an extra charger I can used on Friday? I have one, but need a second for my son.
