This was what spelled the difference. TUTOY and I came up with a thousand and one reasons so as not to run in the 2nd qualifying round. . . . . Karma!!!

Default noob questions

mga sir newbie question, im quite new to this hobby and based sa mga nabasa ko na dit o sa rctech, medyo magastos talaga ang rc as a hobby hehehe, dont have much budget for this but id really like to try. Actually im more inclined to mini Z, i got plans on buying one unfortunately walang mga shops na nag bebenta ng miniz and the sad part is pati track to race on wala..

I found the next interesting rc to choose is the tamiya cars , yung mga team magic at hpi na kasi parang too much na for a newbie like me. So got several questions lang mga sir

1. how much would really cost me to get started, i made rounds na rin kasi, a new TA05 cost mga 6000K without the transmitter pa.

2. ok lang ba to start out sa 2nd hand kit? yun nga lang wala pa nga kasi ding transmitter so di pa din RTR.

3. what kit would you recommend for a nwbie like me ( the cheaper investment the better heheehe)

4. Obviously parang mas malaki talaga ang group ng tamiya enthusiast, so may clubs po talaga kayo na atleast once a month may fun race ( di po yang katulad ng tamiya cup ah) as in fun race lang

so far yan pa lang po mga nasa isip kong question, btw yung category that i want to go in is on electric touring ( i dont have much idea sa nitro cars po kasi, di ko din alam kung ano ang mas mahal)

pahabol pa po yung xb pro series that comes with transmitter ok din po ba yun?

hope you can give some inputs for a noob, thanks in advance to all !

lexluthor: what is your budget. its important we know that before we even suggest what route to take. but offhand if you're really tight on funds, 2nd hand kits and equipment may be the way to go for you. for new kits naman, tamiyas would be the way to go - the 05 is a good one to have. there's also the TT-01 which i believe would be even cheaper but the performance is not to be compared to the 05. but if your in it for the fun of it more than the serious racing, then the TT-01 would be good. besides you can still run it evenutally at the tamiya cup if you want to do so.

jt: ah ganon ba? conscious effort pala on your part e .... karama nga! hahaha ako at least legit yung dahilan ... umalis kasi ako to take my kid to soccer camp so i missed all the qualifiers ... even the one for mod so i ha to start from the back of the grid for that class as well ... buti naka podium pa rin. pero pwede pa talaga dapat akong mag quli kahit isa e ... ayaw lang talaga ni itim ipaalam kay pitshop ... ayun, tuloy pati siya kinarma! bwahahaha!

Pre, daan ka sa saturday sa kapitolyo... Hanapin mo si JoelT. He's one of the more mature guys dito sa Rctech manila. Pa-advice ka sa kanya... Paguwi mo pre parang may nakailaw na bumbilya sa taas ng ulo mo

2nd hand kits are not bad.

Decide ka na ngayon pa lang kung ano ang gusto mong gawin sa kit mo. kung may plano kang kumarera maski once or twice lang, skip mo na yung mga beginner's car and go for 2nd hand racing chassis.

actually there is a bigger group of open class racers/enthusiasts (non-tamiya). and open class club races happen every week of the year - every saturday at capitol and/or JP raceway. club races lang 'to kapatid so yes you can call them fun races since there really isnt anything at stake (maybe just pride for tochidet! hahahaha) .... no trophies or anything like that ..... just weekend racing. then every so often there are big races or a race series that is run. and you'll notice 'fun' is the most important thing at these weekend races. as you can see in this thread, puro alskahan ang ginagawa namin sa race track. we go to the track to eat, drink, and share some laughs .... parang secondary na nga yung racing eh! hahahahaha

that's what really im looking for sir a fun hobby, siguro yung racng will come afterwards hehehe, siguro nga much better if mag invest ng konti sa kit na pwede ring i race in the future, i have seen some kits, basically i have an idea na sa TT01 at yung sa TT05 kit pero yung TA04 pro wala pa kong idea at SSG, ano po ba diff nun? so far yan kasi yung mga post sa for sale thread natin, as for starting kit budget 5k to 10K max po siguro kasi yan din dapat initial budget ko for miniz kaya lang i dropped the idea kasi nga wala man lang track at ang tahimik ng thread dun , mga sir salamat ulit

Lex luthor:

Huling tip pala... Since fun ang hanap mo...

try mo magstay after the races... dun mo din makikita yung fun part pre
