Happy New Year sir!!! How did bes pren find his ride???

Questions lang:

- What are your droop settings?
- Have you decided to adjust the wheelbase length already?
- Did you use the belt tensioner up front, or removed it na muna?
- Did you use both front and read sway bars?

Hehehe sorry sa dami ng tanong, ha?

'Newbie' questions lang sir, so I won't have to 'reinvent the wheel' when it's time to hit the track na.

LEM2/HAWKE - May night race (ata) sa 29th tapos practice sa 30th.

LEM2 - Go pa rin tayo ng 30th, regardless of whether or not we run on the 29th!!! . . . . Para makabawi ka sa pagkawala sa RC Scene!!!

As usual, nde na naman sumasagot ang KURIPS sa mga text ko for the 30th. . . . Plan ko ngang itago at angkinin na lang ng tuluyan yung charger niya kapag hindi siya sumagot by Thursday eh.

Nope, Electronics not yet done. Used his BD for practice.

-Droop settings: Front is 2mm above ride height, Rear is 4mm above ride height. Here is a brief exlpanation on droop setting, courtesy of Sushi Boy from the RDX Thread:

True, you will not change the droop of the car if you dont change the ride height. When you change the ride height, one will have to change the amount of droop respectively. Also... when the tires decrease in diameter by 1mm you only loose .5mm of ride height. When you loose 1mm of ride height the radius of the tire only decreases by .5mm. Note: Diameter = 2(radius)

Basically, I try to make everything even like Brett has stated. Check shock length, spring length, preload, and the downstops from left to right. I usually check this with a droop guage such as the versions from hudy, integy, speedmind, Associated, ect... This is only to check if they are even from side to side.

Now I will put my tires on, and generally they are an equal diameter all the way around. I will put everything in my car: battery, motor, and electronics. Then set ride height at 5.0mm generally. We will call this our "static ride height".

At this point I will pull up on the shock tower from the middle untill the tires JUST start to lift off the setup board. I will hold it in that position and take the height of the car when the suspension is at full extension. For our purposes lets say the ride height of the car when the suspension is at full extension is 7mm.

Now we have our ride height at full extension and our static ride height.

Uptravel or doop = (ride height at full extension) - (Static ride height)

Using this formula we have:

Droop = 7.0mm - 5.0mm
= 2.0mm

Alot of Corally setup sheets list droop as the ride height at full extension. They also list the ride height so one can use this formula to calculate the amount of droop that particular person was running.

Some of the setup sheets have something like "2mm up" under droop. This number using the formula described above.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

-Korey
- Have you decided to adjust the wheelbase length already?-------Nope, I kept it as it is, seems to be okay. Very stable.

- Did you use the belt tensioner up front, or removed it na muna?------I used it already to adjust corerct belt tension, once you run mod, it will defintely loosen up immediately

- Did you use both front and read sway bars?------Yes, it is better. Car runs flatter.

See you on the 29th

2 and 4? Baliktad ito compared to what I normaly set pala. Is it because the rear of the RDX is too planted?

We set our droop differently. I will measure my droop later with the usual droop guage and I will text you the reading. I will teach you an easy way of measuring your droop using your ride height guage, works perfectly all the time.

Cge, please do. I normally set my droop at either 6-4 or 5-3 on the gauge eh, depending on my ride height and conditions of the track. . . 5-3 if my ride height is 6mm and the track is bumpy and 6-4 naman if my ride height is between 5mm to 5.5mm.

Salamat sir!!!
