shimming the diff? para san?

anybody tried this part? is it a good hop-up for the tc3?
1. Shimming: to get the approprate mesh ng diff gear and small bevel gear na sa shaft. To make the drivetrain smoother.

2. Shimming: after 10 bottles of Red Horse Beer, try to pronounce "SWIMMING".

3. Shimming: it's some GAY lingo, I really don't know what it means, try to PM Briat Abat

Shimming :

Di ba ito yung "the act of putting shims"?? Shims, in our particular application, refer to those thin washers that we use to take up the freeplay on the diff gears for example.

Strictly speaking shim is

shim (shĭm)
n.
A thin, often tapered piece of material, such as wood, stone, or metal, used to fill gaps, make something level, or adjust something to fit properly.

tr.v., shimmed, shim·ming, shims.
To fill in, level, or adjust by using shims or a shim.

Alin sa dalawa ang hindi ginagamit sa volume control? Do they sell these 2 types of pots? Baka kasi pang volume control lang yung binebenta sa raon.

if you can open up the potentiometer, you will see the strip of resistive element upon which the sliding contact of the potentiometer's center leg slides on. Linear potentiometers have the same width for the resistive strip for the entire length. Logarithmic potentiometers have strips that widens from one end to the other end.

Logarithmic pots are usually used for volume control although it's very easy to make a linear pot operate logarithmically using an OP-Amp.

Basta dalhin mo na lang yung potentiometer mo... Tingnan mo sa case ng potentiometer mo yung ohms value nya and ask the saleslady for the same type. Buy one linear and one logarithmic. Buksan mo na lang sa bahay pagdating mo then compare mo sa old potentiometer mo.

Humaba pa tuloy yung usapin

Balugz, what is the meaning of shimming????

Balugz: Ma'am, high tide or low tide

shimming? that's simple... shimming... comes from the greek word "shimo" meaning "insert" and the greek word "ing" meaning "to do". put them together and it means "to insert"... ok?
