yep! that's the trick. i've been using small strips of tub tape under my batts to achieve just that in order to make the packs "float" and give the chassis some room to flex more. admittedly though, i can't really feel much of a difference hehehe maybe im just not good enough to notice or because but i've been doing this ever since my BD5 so dont know how it feels without. .... try ko minsan na walang tape risers just to see.

i was thinking about the tape thing sa batts but i feel like magtataas ka ng CG which has more effect on handling than the flex imporvement itself. the trf417v5 has 0.5mm raised bulkheads = higher CG to make the car roll more = more side grip = more chances of traction rolling (in our case). it was was the tuning for the worlds kasi since bawal yung compound.

baka maliit lang naman talaga difference nun tape thing. the tape itslef has flex in effect the baterry still moves around anyway. its not screwed in naman. just my 2 cents.

baka sila hara, rheinard and groskamp nalang nakakaramdam nun and shave off time with those mods hehe

parang power caps hehe I did have the power cap craze when I was doing silvercan. in the end it only gave me some placebo effect = more confidence hehe

@tmomedrano: yup, agree it will definitely raise the CG. but it shouldn't be anything major as you're just looking at strips of tape which should be quite thin ... especially if using electrical tape. I guess the intent of the entire exercise is to make the car feel consistent rather than make it handle drastically different. It's more so flex on each side feels similar since on the other side of the chassis there isnt anything strapped or bolted down to hinder the flex... moreso now with the intro of floating servo mounts. In any case, the added roll higher CG (albeit marginal at best) this will provide can be easily offset by chassis set up by playing around with roll centers to lessen roll/camber gain, etc. Think of of it like you added a shim under your batts so offset this by taking a shim our of your camber links (if needed) to compensate ... but this time with an added consistency the tape tip is supposed to provide. But yeah, like we've mentioned, we probably cant feel it anyway but it shouldn't hurt to try out if you haven't done it yet. Personally don't think the slightly elevated CG will be enough to make traction rolling a problem. Thing of it as a tuning option nalang i guess. Ako personally I leave the tape in and just work my set up with it there.
