Here it comes! The HOTTEST race this summer!

THE 2012 RIDE RACING SUMMER SHOOTOUT!

June 2 & 3, 2012 --> SAVE THE DATES!!!

GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES

RACE FEES:
P1,600 per entry. This includes 1 Set of Ride Racing Pre-Mounted Tires
P1,000 for additional set of pre-mounted tires purchased during the race weekend.
(note only two sets of tires maximum per class/entry)

SUPER STOCK CLASS:
Chassis: Any Brand 1/10th scale, 4wd Touring Car Chassis Only
Motor: Any Brand, 13.5 Brushless
ESC: Open - with (or without) Boost
Batteries: LiPo 2S, 6 Cell NiMh/NiCd Only
Weight: 1,400 grams (with transponder)
Body: Any 4-door touring car/sedan body, 190mm only. Roof/Wing Height and Wing Cord will be measured (Body Jig will be made available)
Tires: Hand Out Ride Racing Pre-Mounted Tires

OPEN MODIFIED CLASS:
Chassis: Any Brand 1/10th scale, 4wd Touring Car Chassis Only
Motor: Any Brand, Modified Brushless Motor (only 9.5 turns and blow Sensored Motors are allowed)
ESC: Open
Batteries: LiPo 2S, 6 Cell NiMh/NiCd Only
Weight: 1,400 grams (with transponder)
Body: Any 4-door touring car/sedan body, 190mm only. Roof/Wing Height and Wing Cord will be measured (Body Jig will be made available)
Tires: Hand Out Ride Racing Pre-Mounted Tires

ADDITIONAL RULES:
1) Only the prescribed Ride Racing Pre-Mounted Tires will be allowed for this race. Each Racer is only allowed to run a maximum of two sets of tires for the entire race event -- from the first round of qualifying to the finals. Tires of each participant will need to be submitted to the race director/officials on race day prior to race start for proper tagging/marking.
2) These tires can only be purchased on race day at the track venue. A specified time slot will be allotted prior to start of the race for tire purchase, tagging and registration (so be early at the track).
3) Bodies must conform to the roof, wing specifications with the use of the on-site body jig at the track (same as MTCC).
4) Bodies, Tires and Weight will be inspected before each round of racing. Any violation will disqualify a racer from running that round.

NEW FORMAT RACE FORMAT:
1) 5 Rounds of Qualifying – After each round, racers will be ranked and assigned points corresponding to their overall finish within their respective classes (1st=0 Pts, 2nd=2 Pts, 3rd=3 Pts, etc..). Points from the best 3 rounds will be counted (drop 2 runs) and added up. This will then be used to seed the mains using the lowest aggregate/total scores result as basis.
2) Triple Mains/Finals – Best two to runs to count, scores of these rounds will be added up (1st Place = 1pt, 2nd Place = 2pts, and so on …) and lowest point total will be used to determine the winners of each class.

RACE SCHEDULES:
DAY 1: JUNE 2, 2011 – Saturday
9am – Track Opens
9am – 12:30pm – Open Practice, Registration Starts, Tire Issuance, Tagging/Marking
12:30pm – Registration and Tire Tagging/Marking Ends
12:30pm - Group/Heat Sorting and Posting
2pm – Tracked Closed/End of Open Practice
2:30pm – Start of Qualifying. 4 Rounds to be run on Day 1.

DAY 2: JUNE 3, 2011 – Sunday
9am – Track Opens
9am – 12:30pm – Open Practice, Registration, Tire Tagging/Marking (only for Racers who did not register on Saturday)
12:30pm – Registration and Tire Tagging/Marking Ends
12:30pm - Group/Heat Sorting and Posting
2pm – Tracked Closed/End of Open Practice
2:30pm – Start of Qualifying. Final Round of Qualifying** and Finals.

OTHER GUIDELINES & INFO:
1) TRACK LAYOUT: A new layout will be used for the 2012 RIDE RACING SUMMER SHOOTOUT. This layout will be made available ONLY on FRIDAY, JUNE 1st, starting 1pm in the afternoon.

2) PRACTICE TIME: Open Practice will be from 1pm to 10:30pm ONLY on June 1. At 10:30pm, the track will be closed and practice runs will no longer be allowed. Next opportunity to practice will be during Open Practice Time on Saturday and Sunday as posted above. Others who have the luxury of playing on weekdays or any other day will not have the advantage of added track time with the new layout.

4) TURN MARSHALLING: Just like all our big races, we will be requiring turn marshalling for this race! Looking forward to your cooperation as always.

5) ROUGH/UNSPORTSMAN LIKE DRIVING will not be tolerated. Penalties will be applied.

WHAT'S UP FOR GRABS???
1.) The 2012 RIDE SUMMER SHOOTOUT Title and becoming Manila's next Touring Car "Hot Shot".
2.) Trophies for all A-Main Finishers of the Open Modified and Super Stock Classes.
3.) Trophies for the B-Main Champions and Medals for 2nd and 3rd Place B-Main Finishers.
4.) Trophy for C-Main Champion

4.5fdr is a good starting point for 13.5 at JPR... just take temps on the 3rd and 5th min

@VintageBoy: Sir, Manito ran his TB Evo5 using an LRP TC Spec esc (no boost) with a Hacker 13.5 BL motor and a 4.4 FDR, temp was about 140 at the end of 5 minutes. Have to test this set-up though with his TC6.

vintage boy: you can actually run your motor up to 180 degs (maximum). at around 130-140, you're likely not maxing out the power of your motor, you can gear a bit more aggressively if that's how low you are temping. personally i try to target around 160-170 degs so that i still get more out of my motor without being right at the edge at 180degs. don't get me wrong though, running it at 130-140 wont harm it since everything is nice and cool, just letting you know that your motor has more potential you can exploit IF you want to.
