November 8 Club Race Qualifying Round – The day’s qualifying followed the standard Open Club Race dual 5-minute format for the three classes. The Silvercan class completed its first round without any problems but the Stock Touring class ran into difficulties with all PT’s and some AMB’s failing to function consistently. By the time the F1 class took to the track the timing system totally collapsed and qualifying was suspended while JP Raceway technicians rooted out the problem. After a quick rebuild and test of the sensor grid and AMB equipment qualifying resumed at 1600hours. Due to the delay caused by the repairs qualifying was changed to a 10-minute open qualifying format with the fastest lap to be used in determining grid position for the finals. Silvercan qualifying saw Tamiya driver Neil Severino taking pole with a time of 15.471s followed by visiting X-Ray driver Doki at 15.534s and Benjie Gabriel with 15.834s completing the top 3. Stock Touring was similarly a Tamiya affair with Takahashi setting a blistering 13.203s lap and Hot Bodies’ Christian Sapala second with 13.403s while Dex Camba edged out position 3 with a 13.416s, just 0.004s ahead of Hirano. F1 pole was claimed by privateer Jason dela Cruz with a time of 15.459s behind the wheel of the exotic Crossfire chassis which until that day was rumored to be a concept car. Dela Cruz was followed by rising-star and part-time pizza delivery driver Christian Saplala with a time of 15.625s and JP Reyes rounded out the top 3 with 16.271s.

Nov 8 Silvercan Finals – It seemed that pole was the safest place to be in the Silvercan Class as Neil Severino took 1st place for Tamiya in Final 1 by avoiding much of the incidents occurring in the grid and fending off a brief challenge by Benjie Gabriel and JP newcomer Doki for the lead. The same incidents allowed Dex Camba to come up from 5th in the grid to claim 3rd place and demoting Gabriel and Ernest Tortuga to 4th and 5th respectively. JP newcomers Jon Cruz and Bam Cruz did not seem to have the pace of their speedy compatriot Doki and had to settle for 6th and 7th places. Final 2 was just as incident plagued and this again allowed Neil Severino to create a comfortable margin ahead of Doki. This time around Dex Camba and Ernest Tortuga maintained their composure to claim 2nd and 3rd ahead of Benjie Gabriel in 4th. Doki had to settle for 5th ahead of Bam and Jon Cruz. This led to a 3-way showdown between Doki, Dex Camba and Ernest Tortuga in Final 3 for 2nd overall. After briefly losing his position to Dex Camba at the early stages of the race, Doki fought his way back up to 1st place and never looked back. Meanwhile Camba suffered mechanical difficulties that saw him slide down to 4th allowing Ernest Tortuga and Jon Cruz a clean run to 2nd and 3rd places but neither had the speed to challenge Doki.

Nov 8 Stock Touring Finals - Final 1 for Stock Touring saw Tamiya drivers Hirano and Takahashi running a solid 21-lap race to claim 1st and 2nd with novice driver Ernest Tortuga claiming a very respectable 3rd with his Cyclone TC. Alfonso Ramos made his way up from 8th on the grid to finish 4th while Dex Camba failed to capitalize on his 3rd place grid position and slipped to 5th ahead of Christian Saplala who, after a strong qualifying form, seemed distracted by a deluge of pizza orders. Final 2 saw a major comeback from Hot Bodies’ Saplala as he claimed 1st place from the Tamiya tandem of Hirano and Takahashi. Ernest Tortuga, Alfonso Ramos and Dex Camba suffered from race incidents that sent them to 4th, 7th and 8th respectively while Anton Ramos and Poch Gabriel made up ground. For Final 3 there was a 3-way battle for the overall win between Hirano, Takahashi and Saplala with Tortuga a darkhorse favorite. However it was Takahashi’s solid form over 22 laps that took 1st place in the final and the overall win. Alfonso Ramos’ aggressive form netted him 2nd while Saplala claimed the final podium spot and 3rd overall. Hirano could only manage 4th after recovering from several racing incidents while mechanical failures claimed Dex Camba, Poch Gabriel and Ernest Tortuga.

Nov 8 Formula 1 Finals - Final 1 saw privateer Raymund Aguilar draw first blood with Allan Colico a close 2nd. After failing to join in the qualifying session that relegated him to the back of the grid, Takahashi threaded his way thru the grid to finish 3rd and only a lap down from the leaders. Ralph Vaggas made a respectable 4th while newcomer Bam Cruz drove a spectacular race from 7th on the grid all the way up to 5th. In a dramatic reversal of fortune, exotic racer Jason dela Cruz failed to capitalize on his pole qualifying position dropping out at lap 5 while Christian Saplala, still distracted by pizza orders from Noel Aldaba, also failed to finish due to a racing incident at lap 2. Meanwhile, newcomer Jun Gaffud finished the race but technical issues prevented him from setting a time. JP Reyes also failed to finish as contact with Aguilar at the very start of the race took him out of the running. Final 2 saw a major shakeup on the leaderboard with JP Reyes staging a strong comeback from a lap down and his DNF in Final 1 by claiming the top spot ahead of Christian Saplala and Raymund Aguilar. Takahashi and Colico could only manage 4th and 5th after a strong showing in Final 1 while exotic racer Jason dela Cruz settled for 6th after repairs to his exotic Crossfire chassis did not restore the exotic performance and handling demonstrated during qualifying. Final 3 saw only 5 cars on the grid with irrepairable damage taking out Vaggas, Cruz and Gaffud. The exotic Crossfire of Jason dela Cruz also made a premature exit as it scheduled for a late night photoshoot for a spread on T3 and Gadget magazines. The overall win was wide open for the remaining 5 racers. Team principles and drivers agreed to extend the final race to 10 minutes since all 5 racers had a fair chance at the top spot. To further close the performance gap, JP Reyes sponsored the other racers with his spare Orion batteries so that everyone was running lighter and with nearly identical capacities. Mechanical trouble forced Raymund Aguilar to pit for repairs by lap 10 and by the time he rejoined he was 9 laps down. Takahashi was the next to suffer from reliability problems and dropped out in lap 24 followed suit by Allan Colico in lap 31 whose rear axle worked loose on lap 23. In the end it was the sheer pace and consistency of JP Reyes that netted him 1st place and the overall win. Christian Saplala nursed his ailing car to 2nd and a tie overall with Aguilar that was decided in favor of Saplala with his 20lap run in Final 2.
