If i'm a member then i should have an ID right? I also don't have to prove it to you or to anyone else either.

We use BL for for expert stock, which is considered modified in the 27turn class racing, but not open class.

Cause this what I read in ROAR 2007 rule book...

8.5.3.2 Approved stock motors must be commercially available through hobby distributors and
hobby dealers nationwide for a maximum retail price of $46, including any after market
tuning and preparation.

8.7.5.0 Brushless Motors are approved for modified racing only.

Well, do you know of any brushless motor that cost $46 or less? Would love to give them a try
So is ROAR 2007 rule book in ROAR website outdated already?!

Xanavi: hi, not sure lang what you mean by cheap so its a bit hard to answer. do you have a budget? i guess the best would be to call up the hobby shops (ie. pitshop and action) to check what they have and how much.

as for the shims in the BL motors, if they came with two shims on top and none at the bottom then i guess that really all they need. no sense in changing how the shimming was done coming from the factory. just reinstall them the same way as how it was prior to you opening them and you should be fine.

tanta: sure ba! gusto ko lang naman i-test sa BD. gusto ko lang mag set up ng bagong kotse. medjo happy na ako sa losi ko eh.... right now im just experimenting on some stuff for the sake of seeing what it will do to my ride. shock oil naman pinaglalaruan ko. anyway, kung di ko makuha soon yung bd ni ronch, we can install in your ride to try it out.

Yes thats right that you should have an ID if you are a member, stupid question huh? Well, who would believe that you are a member without showing proof?

Thats why I looked into ROAR rule book to find proof of my/our claim that brushless is not yet legal in spec racing which you say ROAR allows brushless in spec racing/sanctioned events A scan/picture of the ROAR rule book you are holding that says they allow brushless in spec racing would be good? Your ROAR ID would also be a good proof for us who are curious with your claims that you are a member. Trust me, we would love to have a person who is a member of ROAR who post here in Manila EP Thread so we can get info with some of our issues here in the Philippines. Without proof your claims will just go poof, not only here in Manila threads...even on international threads you'll be flamed with your claims without any proof. Goodluck and we hope to see you next month with the rule book Cheers!

mitch, i think he already mentioned that they use the 13.5 for "expert stock"... which i understand is not the spec class as we know it (27T and 19T), but more of a spec modified class probably.

8.7.5.0 Brushless Motors are approved for modified racing only.

VR2L,

I think the whole point why mitch posted the 17.5 brushless motor is that we're currently looking for ways to allow brushless motors in the "ROAR Stock" races held locally. While were not sanctioned by ROAR, we do follow some, if not most, of the rules (i.e. we run 27T instead of 23T, body dimensions, etc). We were originally looking at the 13.5 brushless but feedback and our own personal experiences tells that the 13.5 is far more powerful and efficient compared to the 27T. the 13.5 feels like its closer to a 23T motor or a mildly tune 19T. hope this clarifies things.

anyway, looks like we're trying to make two worlds think alike ..... but I think voodoo already stated it that it could be we are referring to two different things. our 27t stock class here is our closest version of the spec 27t class and not a special class like an "expert stock" or whatever that is. anyway, no point in dragging on the conversation since in the end, we still dont run BL with brushed 27t stock class here anyway or any other spec class for that matter, at least not in the big races. hopefully that will change in the near future though once other international organizations start opening up more with regards to spec BL classes.

so for now, back to racing .... sino lalaro sa sabado? start tayo maaga mga 9am so we can end early as some people, including yours truly will have to leave early. timed practice tayo at the very least if we can borrow an amb somewhere.

toink: tuloy natin! kaw pwede ka?

we will be using the same layout for series 2 of the tac pre-departure race. as what oldskul has mentioned, we plan to move the race from sep-8 to sep-1 to accomodate most of those racers who are not available.

i also would like to confirm from everyone if we can start the race early around 10am with the qualifying and we target to finish by 3-4pm

oldskul/rnold: personally, mas di ako pwede this saturday bro. binyag naman ang katapat nun. kaya nga as mentioned below, kung maglalaro kami this sat, lalaro kami at 9 and hopefully end by 2pm. yung sept 8 actually baka nga magawan ko pa ng paraan kasi baka pwede sa reception nalang ako pumunta para sa kasal na attendan ko ... but really, just schedule the race on whatever is best for you. personally i will just adjust if i can. sasagot rinnaman yung ibang racers dito kung ano mas ok sa kanila ... ... either way, im sure the warm up race will be fun. enjoy!
