Hindi naman siguro lahat mag BL agad, so I think meron pa rin mag hanap ng mga tools for brushed motors, medyo pahirapan lang siguro kasi medyo tight budget mga racers.
Also, I think magagamit mo pa yan if we have spec racing...except if you're only planning on running mod.
--
How about BL & Brushed motor on same classes? Would that be implemented or is it BL Class and Brushed Motor Class only? *Same goes sa LiPo & Sub C cells*

If you ask me, I think club races its ok to have BL/Brushed mix but not on a big race with everyone wanting to win.

My 2 pesos...I hope I didnt accidentally opened a can of worms

sana nga payagan din yung 10.5 and 13.5 sa equivalent spec classes nila. so far, from what we've seen, running BL has no clear advantage on the track... it still boils down to driver skill.

rough: mukhang sa mga panahon ngayon kailangan ko parin ng motor tools ko. hehehe ako kasi ayaw ko pa gumastos for BL and besides katulad ng sabi mo hirap magbenta ng gamit so il just stick with what i have today para kumarrera. magkano rin nagastos for brushed stuffs kse.

regarding BL and brushed running together naman, i dont see anything wrong with it. personally oks lang sakin yun. kaya kung ano man esc/motor niyo sa sabado.. please join the race

see you all on saturday.

ang sakin, i think BL in the open mod races are a non issue already. being open mod, its pretty much like an unlimited class ... meaning bring your best bakal ika-nga! if you're slow with an 8 turn brushed, no one is stopping you to run a 7 or 6 turn to get the speed you want. besides, even IFMAR views it the same way thats why even all the way up to the worlds, BL can run with brushed. ... same goes for lipo .... with the big names already jumping onto the lipo bandwagon, it shouldnt be too far off that we see these cells becoming legal in open mod racing.

now as for spec, i have to disagree that there is no advantage for BL .... i think many internationally will attest that there are clear advantages for BL "spec" motors over brushed. they really dont match up with their brushed counterparts yet. BL motors have way more torque and overall power. i think even a certain racer who ran a lipo/BL set up last saturday (itago natin sa pangalan "joji s." o di kaya ""j. say" ) can give us a first hand testimonial that BL is indeed faster. to think he was using lipos, imagine if he was using nimhs. and thats also precisely why international sanctioning bodies have not allowed BL for spec .... yet! but dont worry, eventually it will happen! and i have a feeling it will be sooner than we think.

... just my two centavos.

anyway, karrera na ulit sa sabado! MODIFIED!!!!

Ok ah. Interesting. Basta ako, uubusin ko muna mga brushed motors ko. May 2 D3.5 at 2 Dyna Run motors pa ako eh....

Hi guys,

Share ko lang ang view ko regarding combining brushed and brushless in classes. I agree with what Roborat mentioned pero may konting modification regarding lipo batteries.

Open Mod Class = allow brush to run with brushless; allow lipo to run with regular batteries

Spec Classes = separate brush and brushless; but allow lipo to run with regular batteries

Here in the states, racers have been running brushless for more than a year now so may idea na ang tao dito kung ano ang mga may advantages. No arguments, Open Mod means anything goes. So given na yon at accepted dito na when you enter Open Mod, kahit ano pwede. The real issue is in Spec Classes; in both 19t and stock 27t. Tamiya USA did a test last month on combining brushed and brushless(13.5) motors in stock. I opted to use a brushed motor/lipo combo and most of the other guys used brushless/lipo combo. I managed to TQ the first round with a regular stock motor, but once the temperature rose in the next qual rounds; the brushed motor would heat up and fade away. It was very interesting to find myself in the lead the first 2-3 minutes of the race then the brushless guys would swarm all over me kasi they have more efficiency and consistency.

In the end, brushless/lipo got first then myself (brushed/lipo) then another brushless/lipo. It was good to finish in the top 3 spots but it was a bit frustrating trying to protect the lead/position half of the race knowing that the others have more consistent power than you throughout the 5 min duration. This is the reason why I opt to separate brushed versus brushless in spec classes where heat is a major factor.

As for Lipo and regular NIMH; not much difference if you ask me. I played with Lipo during the TAC race at JP and noticed it having consistent power in 5 minutes but lacking the punch needed to move spec motors. I say it's a trade off in the end. Use NIMH if you want a little more punch but realize that power will drop faster than Lipo. Use Lipo if you want consistency but less punch. Somebody compared Lipo to being the turtle and NIMH to being the hare. In the end, it's how you use them that matters.

tahimik aH hehe... for me sa batts i guess ok lang maging open as long as nasa minimum weight ka. like what eeyan said, tradeoff na lang yan magkakatalo kung gusto mo sa first few mins may punch ka or kung gusto mo consistent ka for 5mins. for open mod like what robo said bring your best bakal for spec class i guess sa mga club races ok lang pero kung may big race hehe parang mahirap na yan

eeyan: have you tried using lipo/bl combo sa mod?

kuha na ng lipo habang meron pang stock tagal ng sabado ah
