2017 MNL Format / rules

MNL 2017 New Format
Format
Christmas tree. Full rules according to IFMAR / FEMCA race.
5 heats - 10 mins ( 4 out of 5 to count ) or 4 heats - Subjective to entries
Sub finals will be 25 mins
Finals will be 1 hour for all 3 classes
In 2017, NO OVERSEAS DRIVERS WILL SCORE ANY POINTS IN ALL 3 CLASSES NOR PODIUM REGARDLESS OF ANY RESULTS.
HOWEVER, OVERSEAS DRIVERS ARE ALLOW IN TO RACE IN THE MNL. OVERSEAS DRIVERS WILL BE AWARDED A PLAQUE ENGRAVED " GUEST DRIVER " to show out appreciation of your participation
*. Subject to International entries, a maximum of up to 5 International drivers will race in Finals only. This will make up to be eg: 20 drivers (15 Malaysians and 5 Overseas) during the finals. BUT subjective to *Overseas drivers who qualify in the final. Committee reserved the RIGHT in all decision. Applies to all 3 classes
Overall Point System ( Year end )
a. Pro MYS / Semi Pro MYS / Amateur MYS
i. The Overall Points is based on ‘Best 3 of 5’ rounds in MNL 2017.
ii. Top 15, Top 15 and Top 15 trophies will be given to Pro, Semi Pro and Amateur respectively
iii. OVERSEAS DRIVER WHO MAKE THE FINAL ONLY will receive a plaque engraved " Guest driver " if concern finish in the top 15 only
Final drivers
i. Pro Malaysia - 15 drivers ( 7 from semi final A & B ) 1 to compare from results of Semi A & B
ii. Semi Pro Malaysia - 10 or 15 drivers ( 7 from semi final A & B ) 1 to compare from results of Semi A & B
( subject to entries in Semi Pro Class )
iii. Amateur Malaysia - 15 drivers ( 7 from semi final A & B ) 1 to compare from results of Semi A & B
Rules
Time-delay
During subfinals and above, a maximum of ONE(1) 'Time-Delay' is allowed in one time over one subfinals
Fuel Check
IFMAR rule book, there will only be ONE(1) '15 minutes cool-down period' after the first fuel check fail. If they fail after the ‘15 minutes cool down’, their points for that particular heat will not be counted; i.e disqualification of heat. Therefore, it is the drivers responsibility to do their own fuel check at the scrutineering area in the morning before race starts.
When called, Drivers will have a maximum of 7 minutes, from the time race is finish until the timer on the scrutineering area hits ‘0’ minutes, to submit their car for fuel check. Failure to do so may/will result in heat disqualification. Hence, please submit your car IMMEDIATELY after racing.
All cars that will be going to the next sub final MUST go through fuel check.
Drivers NOT allow to clean the cars when fuel scrutineering.
You clean the car, you are DISQUALIFY
Trophy
I. Pro Class
a) Every round there will be Top 15 Pro Mys trophies, 1 TQ Pro Class trophy.
II. Semi-Pro
a) Every round there will be Top 15 Semi-Pro trophies and 1 TQ Semi-Pro trophy.
III. Amateur
a) Every round there will be Top 15 Semi-Pro trophies and 1 TQ Amateur trophy.
EVERY DRIVER WHO MAKES THE FINAL MUST STAY BACK TO COLLECT THE TROPHIES from Round 1-5. IF YOU FAIL TO DO SO. I will issue you a warning.
Repeat offender penalty - 2 points taken off your / minus from that round..
Should driver have emergency and need to leave early. Please seek approval before leaving.
Overall Trophy ( Subjected to Entry for the whole year)
a) Top 15 Pro MYS
b) Top 15 Semi Pro MYS
c) Top 15 Amateur MYS
Classes
I. There will only be THREE(3) classes for the year 2017. They will be Pro, Semi Pro and Amateur class.
II. MNL 2016 Pos 4th & 5th Semi Pro drivers have the option to either bump up to Pro or race in Semi Pro for 2017.
III. Drivers from MNL 2016 Semi Pro class, have the OPTION to either remain in Semi Pro Class or race in Amateur Class 2017. However, your decision must be made on/by MNL 2017 Round 1. Once you have decided which class you will be racing, you MUST stay in that class for the whole year of 2017. Anyone who registers under a different class at anytime for rounds 2-5, their points will not be counted.
IV. Rickey Teoh, George Coleman & SL Wong MUST promote to Pro in 2017.
Semi-Pro Class ( Target 20 drivers )
Selection: Drivers to choose
i. This class will consists of Semi-Pro 2016
ii. 2016 Semi Pro drivers may choose to race in Amateur class in 2017
All drivers will be subjected to committtee to approve. Based on age, ability, racing budget etc
If no names enter as below, your prefer class of racing in 2017.....we will put you back in the same class in 2017
MNL Rules
PROTESTS
Only drivers participating in the race may enter a protest.
Protests may concern: The organization (acting contrary to the rules), officials (acting contrary to
the rules), results (only when proof can be presented showing the result is wrong), other
competitors (acting contrary to the rules to seek advantage or disadvantage for the protestor).
Only written protests handed over to the Race Director within ten (10) minutes of the publication of
results of the heat or occasion to which it is concerns, will be considered.
RM100 has to be paid to the Race Director, who will only then accept the protest.
The protest must contain relevant information for the Race Director to be able to discuss the protest and decide.
CAUSES FOR PENALTIES
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour.
- Re-entering the race from other than the point at which the car left the track (not in the case
of an engine stoppage and the car has to be re-started when the car re-enters the race from
the pits).
- If the car is pushed over the finish line (it must finish under its own power).
- If orders of Race Officials are not obeyed.
- If a driver changes his complete car for whatever reason.
- The bad behaviour and deportment of any competitor during the race meeting which could injure the image of MNL.
- If a car fails technical inspection, that round time will be disallowed.
- If a driver jump starts in any final, the Referees will give a ‘Drive Thru’ penalty.
- No driver should confront other driver directly, if there was complaint must go through Race Director. Penalties or banned will be imposed for such behaviour.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ALL are conducted by Race Director and Committee only.
GENERAL DIMENSIONS
The official measurements in the technical specifications are the metric measurements.
- Overall length - 550mm maximum.
- Overall width - 310mm maximum at any point of suspension travel.
- Wheelbase - 270mm to 330mm.
- Overall height - measured from the ground including roll bar at full suspension compression is
- The minimum weight limit, ready to race excluding fuel, shall be 3.2kg/7.04lbs for 4WD cars
- Fuel tank 125 cc only.
Truggy Class
WE will have a SUPPORT Race for Truggy in 2017
Minimum 6 drivers to RUN
Not classify under National Ranking
Rules: OPEN
Race fees
1. Drivers who race both classes - Fees is RM160.00 + RM100.00 = RM 260.00
2. Drivers who race ONLY Truggy - RM 120.00
Format
- 5 X Rounds of qualifying ( 3 rounds X on Saturday, 2 X rounds on Sunday ) subject to entries
- 1 X Final ( 40 mins MAX )
Trophies
Depends on the number of drivers.
EG 6 drivers; Only Top 3 drivers will have trophies

ONLY PRO Malaysia drivers are eligible
Rules-
- Top 2 in Pro class will be confirmed, the rest all on standby ( will apply and wait for more seats allocation from IFMAR )
- If all Pro class drivers, decided not to go, seats will be allocated to Semi Pro class and so on
- RC Malaysia use a fair system of qualification. Drivers qualify on merit. Should you did not qualify under MNL 2018...... MNL drivers are not permitted to represent other countries. If we find out, we will protest / send letter to IFMAR and ban you 1 year from all MNL races.....
- For PR / Overseas Malaysia residence.... who competes in MNL.....and qualify / non qualifier.....

2. Non qualify drivers - May represent your home country subject to their approval..........or National Organisation..............
