GS In Malta
Another great weekend of racing for the GS Team under the Maltese sun, where the first Mega Event Invitational for 2009 was held at the G.M.C.A. raceway on the Island of Gozo. Attracting the best drivers on the island, this is the pinnacle of driving events in Malta. GS Racing CL-1, CL-1 Advanced and CL-1 Advanced Plus buggies performed strongly in spite of the devastating track conditions. DHI Racing team driver Carmelo Portelli managed to place his CL-1 Advanced Plus buggy in the final with a 2nd place and 2 heat wins. Mario Grech driving a CL-1 Advanced, also qualified for the finals whilst the remaining three entries called it a day after finishing 7th, 10th and 15th respectively. Having set the fastest buggy time for the day Carmelo was one of the top seeds for taking the overall win. The final began with the Carmelo powering away from the start and taking the hole shot closely followed by Mario with his CL-1 Advanced. After a few laps his lead grew to near half a lap, it was then that the killer conditions took their toll, dropping Carmelo back. After chasing down the leaders from 4th place Carmelo once again claimed the lead on the last corner after the leader cracked under the pressure. In spite of extreme conditions that tested both driver ability and product durability, GS Racing came out on top proving their worth.

What's a good shock setup in the front? Right now I'm running 1.3 oil 35wt with blue springs(not enough rebound). The track I race at has a couple of large jumps and few bumps and pretty technical. I have tried orange 1.4
45wt also but it just seem way to stiff.
Thanks in advance.

Tech Rookie
Hi there,
Our track is loose and dry and bumpy... Our jumps arn't that big so I run 1.5 pistons with 35 WT all the way around with red springs. I'm on rails with this setup using black antiroll bars with 1.5 and 2.3 mm preload on the bars and 0 and 5mm preload on the shocks. Hope this helps.

The opening round of the Spanish 1/8th scale buggy championships took place this weekend in Alhaurín de la Torre in Malaga. Qualifying saw Angel Roque Gambero take the TQ spot from Dani Vega in 2nd and Robert Batlle in 3rd and following the semi finals it would be Juanma Vera that would start the 45 minute final from pole position with Batlle lining up 2nd and Vega 3rd. After only 1 lap, Robert Batlle was able to take the lead following problems for the pole man and only during his pit stops would he again give up that lead. Robert would go on to win by 15 seconds from eventual 2nd placed finisher Borja Hernandez(GS Racing), with Antonio Jesus Gomez Salmeron taking 3rd, the top 3 all ending the race on the same lap.
