Default Malaysia Water Fest R/C model boat Race

One of our objectives as a model boat club of Sibu is to promote this hobby through out Malaysia and Brunei. We were encouraged by the many participants including those from Sabah who came for the first time. Next race hopefully will be in Sabah.

Default Lap counting system

Other than points awarded based on position during the race, we also use the number of laps completed and thus the number of points. Eg. 10 points for 1st position and 10 points for 10 laps completed and therefore a total of 20 points.
For each lap we use 2 buoys to determine 1 lap. So, a boat may only complete 6 laps and managed to be no. 1 while the other boat in another group may complete 9.1 laps and managed 2nd.
Position laps completed points
Boat A 1st 6 10 + 6 = 15
Boat B 2nd 9.1 8 + 9.1 = 17.1

From here, we see that boat B has more points than boat A even though boat B got 2nd in his race.

In case of a draw total time of each heat will be used to determine who qualify for the final.

The reason why we use laps is to encourage boaters to finish all laps.
