Uncle Jawbreaker, if I'm not mistaken, the boat is made of some kind of fibreglass material. So it will never sink.

A semi-finish boat getting ready for the coming race at the National Water Festival.
This one is ready for race. Behind is a real F1 Powerboat, one of the race events for the National Water Festival.

Also, I've heard that nitro boat engines use 40% nitro because they are water cooled ! Is this true?

Someone should put up more information on how to get started in this RC POWERBOAT especially for our semananjung guys if they are interested. FYI most of these boats are gasoline powered and modified quite entensively by our local so-called engineers ( they are real good...believe me espcially those from Bintulu). Commonly used engines are Stilh, Mitsubishi and many other grasscutters engines. Anyway, for Zenoah engines, please refer to Komatsu Zenoah's site for dealer in Malaysia.
These wooden boat are the most economical boat hull you can find in the whole world and don't under estimate it's performance....once again MALAYSIA BOLEH ! Pioneered by a group of rc boater from a small town called TATAU.....this is where these plywood tunnel hull started with the use of grasscutters engines and homemade hardwares.
One of my boat here.

david62, usually for onroad cars, the mesin potong rumput engines using petrol are used on 1/5th scale. But for rc boat, what size does it start to use these engines versus the nitro powered ones?
