I found out why ppl with NTC3 are having this problem. They are not using the AE silicon grease specially for the ball diff but using std household type of grease and stuff the whole diff with grease. Problem starts when the household grease gets between the drive cup and diff plate. This is where the slip occurs and can melt the diff. The diff rings does not have an locking position unlike certain other manufacturer who inner rings is straight at a certain area. This will prevent the ring from slipage when in contact with the drive cup.

Use only AE grease, its a special compound for ball diff. It creates better contact between the ball and plate. Its made only some dielectric compound or something like that.

Hi leegx,

We knew that this particular model with the diffs, As we know that the owner uses Real Car Grease or other Grease to substitute the Diff Black and White Grease.

For the rest of the cars still running today we adhere strictly to using Good Quality White and Black Grease and we are still using them till this day.

We would show you our First 7-7even Blue Factor Diffs still intact and in top condition. Visit me at the Mines this Sunday Carpet Race.

tq

Here is some info:

The Golden Rules of Set-up!

Always, always, always! Run your car in the exact kit set-up to start with.
This is a proven set-up, that will work on all surfaces with all tyres in all conditions. It will not be the fastest, but it will work and the car will be easy to drive. If you run this configuration and you car is not totally balanced and without vices then there is something wrong with your build!

You need to check your shocks are correctly set-up, and have the exact same lengths side to side. That your ride height it set-up correctly with at least 0.5mm higher at the rear. That your droop screws are correctly adjusted. And finally that all your suspension and steering parts turn and move freely under their own weight.
If not, then correct them and you will find that the car handles perfectly (and better than most if not all) in this kit mode.

After a couple of runs to get used to the car you can then start dialling in the car to your personal driving requirements, the track, the tyres and the surface. Only make one change at a time as this car will respond to adjustments and you will notice the difference. If you get lost in your adjustments - go back to kit as the proven starting point.
