RC Drift Tech Thread

hello guys !
lets share our drift setting here..
First i would like to ask anybody that can teach me how to set my machine.
im using 415msx.. :)

yeahjamal 01-09-2008 02:35 AM

aiyoo.....man...i told u already...
...

chamber
front = 1
rear = 1.5

bearing
one way=front
spool=rear

springs
soft front and rear

itu ajer kot...:sweat:

betulkn aku kalo aku salah yer cucu man! :p

intruxion 01-09-2008 04:55 AM

my setting plak... hehe

chamber 0

spring front soft, back med

erm.. last time i use one way at the front.. but i dun kinda like it in the end coz u tend to power slide more making the drift dun look graceful.. just my 2 cent..

my chassis : Xray T1 Evo 2

p/s: Gud Luck 4 ur exams Navs...

navz 01-09-2008 06:58 AM

thank you tok yeah.. lol
thx to intruxion for sharing ur setting..
back to you tok yeah..

Aiseh......:sweat:Why most people keep calling wheel geometry as Chamber? it's Camber la...:confused:

bleh ke??
bukan kene ade spur n pinion yg lain ke ??

camber
front = 1
rear = 1.5

cam ne nak buat ? teach me ..

intruxion 01-09-2008 11:22 AM

a ah.. kene spur pinion lain kan? ada cara kira.. tapi me oso not sure.. sifu2 sekalian, info bit bout ratio thingy.. thx

u pakai msx ? ada manual?

formula

spur gear 102T bahagi pinion 39T pastu kali dengan internal ratio 2.187
= 5.72

navz 01-09-2008 04:51 PM

oh i see.. trf415msx internal ratio is 2.187 ...
now i know how to kira.. thx to kreator1:lol::nod::smile:

Ok, just found my Fall 1999 RC Touring cars mag. Start educating those who don't know!

Tire Circumference; (Tyre diameter)mm x 3.142 = Xmm

Transmission ratio
Dual Belt cars = devide the number of teeth on the diff pulley by the number of teeth on the layshaft pulley

Gearbox cars = devide the number of teeth on the diff gears by the number of teeth on the transmission's top gear (the internal gear that shares it's axle with the spur gear)

eg; 32 diff puley, 15 tooth pinion 32/15: 2.13

Now, Rollout formulae

(tyre circumference)/((spur/pinion) x (transmission Ratio)) = Rollout

Rollout = distance with each revolution of the motor's armature

Mod motors (below 13T)= Start with 25mm rollout
STock motors (3+ to 20T) = Start with 30mm rollout

Hope this helps ;p

Regards,
Aaron

Just a quick note. Informaton on gear ratios are almost irrelevent, partly because you don't calculate the output of the motor itself (torque curve, RPM at best efficiency, etc). ANd normally I'll just ignore the formulae to calculate the overall gear ratio. So probably you should just try trial and error, see which best suits the track or your driving style.

oh my god :eek:
how am i going to do all of this calculation..:cry:
:cry: thx for the tips..

I'll update it again, since the transmission layout these days are different :)

navz 01-09-2008 11:12 PM

sry,what is transmission layout ??
