Maybe it was undergeared?

I've only had that issue once...and I backed off 1 tooth and all was well

The "updated" rotor still gets hot easily. It's got a lot more torque, and maybe less RPM than the original one. The "sintered" rotor runs much cooler. There's the original, updated (that comes with the update kit) and then the sintered, which was designed for the 3.5R but works in all their motors.

The sintered rotor is much narrower than the other two, presumably because the magnets are stronger. It leaves a bigger air gap between the rotor and stator which seems to allow the motor to run cooler.

BRL is allowing the sintered rotor as a legal upgrade in their 4300's.

Default 4300 Class, the most fun yet!!!

I was having thermal issues with the old standard rotor (old style motor with solder holes instead of tabs) I could not get the car to run anything over a 28.5mm and that was on the previous wide open track.

I upgraded the endbell and upgraded rotor (not sintered) I was running a 29.4mm or so (new tighter track) I had one thermal Saturday night and it was after taking a 1.5 lap warmup and finished the race then completed one whole lap afterwards and the car quite crossing the line on the extra lap.
(I did not get a chance to temp the motor after that one) In terms of how the car was I had TQ when we started the main (thanks to Charlie's thermal :-) ) The results of the main did not show it, but the car was fast, just hit a few too many things because of the driver having some "red mist" after 1st turn debacle.

I hope to try the Sintered rotor tonight and compare it to the "upgraded rotor" to get some baseline for the Delta in gearing between the two.

Will see everybody in a few hours. I hope Billy or Lance or somebody has some 6 degree C hubs as my "red mist" came with some required parts replacement and my new parts aren't here yet

looking forward to it. Cya soon.
