If by 18th scale, you mean like Mini-Ts and other mini trucks/buggies like that, theres occasionally enough to run a class. But nothing major. I've seen people running both foams and rubber on their mini trucks/buggies. The motor options also seem to be pretty wide open.

I haven't seen Shane or John mention it here yet, so I'll mention it...

The races will be in a new section of the parking lot this year. So if you drive down Metcalf and don't see it in its usual spot, don't think the races aren't happening, its just been moved to another spot in the same shopping center.

We've been told that the new section is smoother and has less cracks and bumps compared to the past location.

Now if my sense of direction is correct , then the new spot will be South of the main building in the center of the shopping center, instead of the east side, where it used to be.

Seems like last year there were quite a few 18th's. Certainly enough to make a class each week.

It was fun...next time with a bigger track it should be awesome. I think we had 6 or 7 - 19t guys. Hopefully they will all become regulars. It was fun having that many cars on the track. It sometimes takes a little time to adjust to running on bumpy asphalt, but everyone improved quickly. Good job! Hope to see everyone in 2 weeks!

CIVIC91 was correct. I was fun. The hardest part for some of us us was getting the set-up changed over from carpet to bumpy asphault. I have already bought the parts to fix the car. Next time no excuses why I did not finish. Maybe next ime SPEEDY will not "HACK" me and break me. SEE YA'LL...

Will post results tonight when I get to Fastlane.

Next track will be a little bigger the track that was run Sunday was the same size as last years so we will make it bigger in 2 weeks for a little more speed, and fun

Thanks to all who came out and raced with us and see everyone in a couple weeks..

Shane

2nd gear wasn't needed on that short track. Soon as I'd shift it was time to shut down and turn!

Good times!

I think last year track was a good bit bigger than that. I mean it did reach from one pole to another in that old area. We didn't even need 2nd gear on Sun, and that definitely wasn't the case last year. I'd say it was just slightly smaller.

I can see a lot of potential for all the space in that new area. Can't wait to see what the track is like for the next race. Should be good.

Gotta get me a new servo for the nitro, and hopfully some of those new Twister foams.

The weather was perfect, can't ask for much better than that. Hopefully its a sign of things to come for following race weekends.

Had a good time...hope to see everyone out again at the next race.

As for the 19t class, hopefully we can get at least that many every week. If you have a set up for carpet, ball it up, throw it away, and set the trash can on fire. Cause it aint gonna work out at OP.

For those adapting to OP for their first time, heres some tips...

-Go thinner on the oil. With thinner oil, the shocks recover faster from bumps
-Go lighter on the springs...a lot lighter. Those 1 ton springs we use for carpet just wont work out side.
-Raise your ride height...The car will role more with the new set up, and if the chassis is dragging, the suspension can't work.

Those things are a good place to start...
