Default Come Join the IRT + Discussion Thread

Time for a new thread and new title, since the last one has last year in the title.

So come and join the IRT Here!

Also, it has been a while, and I know that people move through their TCs and other RC vehicles so fast, so what are your driving now?

Since I Joined the IRT I have had a Electric 4-tec with Tekin G-10, Multiple Street Weapons including an IWC. I had a RC Lab 7 Even Pro II, I still have three Mini-z cars and have a Yokomo MR4TC SSG (Belt Drive).

Motors that I have had since I joined the IRT
Firehawk, Conquest, Race Prep Outlaw 27, Reedy Rage, Spitfire, Chrome Stock, MVP, and now a Motor Horsepower (Plan to have it a LONG time, have extra armature, brushes and a Mod Lathe)

Radios since I joined the IRT
Lynx AM and then a Lynx 3D FM which I still run.

Escs that I have run since I joined the IRT
Tekin G-10 and now a Hitec HFX.

High School. I'm jealous. When I was in High school I had a Tamiya Hornet with Mechanical Speed control. Overnight charger, had to have a seperate receiver battery park. My transmitter with a Tower Hobbies ones with sticks!

Your gear is the bomb for high school student!!

Hahahaha! So you have a lucrative 75% sponsorship. Do you have to their names painted on the side of your car?

That is cool. I got the money for my RC car when I was in high school by mowing lawns in the summer. I would then sale all the stuff from previous hobbies and turn it into cash for my next hobby.

How is the racing where you guys are?

I can hardly wait to start racing again. It has been over a year since I have been in any kind of proper race. I have shown my 3 Mini-z cars to friends of mine, and have had little races, but they have been rubbish. I look forward to racing 1/10th and Mini-z cars with people who practice!

In the Nor-Cal area, racing is awesome. Very competitive.

Maybe it is just me, but since I live in Northern California, and you are way the heck south of me, it is hard to me to call that area down there Nor-Cal.

What are the names of the tracks down there? Do you have some photos?

How are you enjoying your Yokomo SD?

Alright you're North-Cal and ill be Nor-Cal

Some of the tracks up here are Speedworld Raceway, Delta R/C and more.

The tracks I listed have homepages. Speedworld's homepage is in the ad banner on the top of the page. Delta R/C's site is www.deltarc.com

The SD is nice. I broke a Rayspeed CF Shock Tower the other day. I was driving my new setup on the street to test it out and I wasn't looking and the car went under a tire.

I wish I could help you with your R/C Program thing. If you need anything, let me know. I have a Duratrax BLAST! Esc. Not sure if it works or not. But when I get time, ill send it out to you.

I have raced at Speedworld in Sacramento before. That is a cool place to race. That was when I had first started racing. We had a run what you brung rule at our club. One of our buddies showed up at speedworld with a buggy, as soon as they saw it, they booted him right off the track, and he just had to sit there and watch while the other two of us raced. Eventually we tore up all our cars and spares and went home.

It is a cool track.

Ripon was a lot closer to us. We used to live in Merced. We would also go and race at Cycle Art in Fresno. Our racing was with the club. We would have about 24 racers show up each weekend when were racing. Just as soon as we could get 5 guys with charged batteries we would run another race. It was not uncommon to get 10-15 races in. We had to use a lot of dry ice to bring the motor temperatures down quickly so that we could run again.

I look forward to racing as hard and as much with the new club in NORTH-CAL. We race just 9 days from now and I can hardly wait!

As much as possible, I try to buy my gear used. I splurge every so often and get things that are new, like a new Monster Stock, and I bought my radio new (a couple of use ago, still using my Lynx 3d FM)
