International Racing Team Clubhouse

Time for a new thread that does not have the name of the year in the title. If people would like to join the IRT, just let us know.

WW you were talking about more people chatting when you first started. There were a lot of people who were part of the IRT when it first began. I think that there are many reasons why it shrunk.
1. There are now other international threads on this site.
2. There are other local racing teams on this site.
3. We started before there was even a chat lounge.

So at one time we dominated all of those.

Back to what we were talking about with Ford Escorts. There were some really cool front wheel drive ones that were available on the UK, but the king of the hill was the Cosworth Escort. I saw ones that were trick out to 200 mph in magazines. I also got to attend the Snow Man Rally race in Inverness and saw and heard them race on the forest tracks on Norther Scotland. Unbelievable. That was before the WRX and the STI.

Last that I saw, Cosworth was working with Nissan. Previously they had worked with GM, Mercedes and Ford. All Cosworth cars are awesome.

I close clubhouse because of having a buddy who was part of a Motorcycle club.

Oppsss...how come last time I got my IRT no is 188 but somebody already had that number? hehehe maybe you should re arrange everything again I meant all the numbers.........  :D :D :D

Cmotif 01-01-2007 09:15 AM

Anyone see Hicksey? I haven't. Hobby Peoples, I'll switch you in at 188, because obviously you want that number and the other guy isn't here. Or if he is here under a different name or something, I'll give him a week to reveal himself and claim that number.

Oasis, I will change you on the list to Oasis.

I still have that SSG Yokomo that you sold me.

Man, I am already loving 2007. 2006 was not such a hot year for me, and 2007 looks SO much better.

Any other hobbies.

Got me a new toy. Had a Savage Model 1907 .32 pistol that was made in 1911. I was told that it was questionable to fire it because of the age of it. (brittleness of the metal etc etc.) So I recently sold it. Got 150.00. Turned right around and picked up a C9 9mm Hi-point for 124.99, a box of 50 rounds of 9mm ammo, cleaning kit and background check. The total 151.77. So a 9mm for 1.77 out of pocket. Hi-point are US made and come with a lifetime no questions asked warranty. Not the prettiest thing, but shoots the same ammo as way more expensives Glocks, Berettas, etc etc even up to very hot +P+ loads.

Went out and sighted it in this morning. 6 rounds in a 4 inch circle at 20 yards. I figure that is not too bad for a handgun that only has a 3.5 inch barrel. I was using the optional ghostring rear sight that came with the gun, rather than the stock two dot open sight.

I love things that go fast, things that are loud, and things that smoke!

Here is a photo

Cmotif,

Thank you for your help, I'll wait and see okay.........

How was your new year celebrations yesterday?

Cmotif 01-02-2007 07:22 AM

My guess is that we won't see Hicksey in the next five days. I will PM him.

If we can't get a hold of him, then I'll sort out the confusion on your behalf.

As for celebrating New Year's watched a movie with my wife and looked at a couple of celebrations around the country on the tv.

I need some ideas for what would make good temporary off-road ramps.

I previosly bought some duratrax quick ramps, that are made with corrugated plastic and have wire on the bottom that base of the ramp from flattening. They were for bashing, but would not hold up under club racing conditions. I am looking for ideas for what would work for club racing, and then could be taken down and stored.

It's more to make sure your not a felon, Also helps them to track who has what weapons and how many..If you don't think that they keep tabs on this think again.. ..A few years ago my Dad was off on disability and the company he worked for had some major vandalism in another state and due to the sensitive nature of said vandalism, The FBI talked to all furlowed and all employees on disability, I did see a list that had every one of his firearms that were registered, That shocked me that they could even come up with that list.

I don't know the whole ins and outs of a background check. All I know is what they told me, is that when I bought my son's .22 and my 9mm, they said that my background check went through in record time.

I did volunteer my finger prints years ago, when I served as a chaplain at a youth detention facility. I have no criminal record.

I think that it is to try keep guns out of the hands of felons. I know of a couple of stores in California, that were sloppy with their paperwork, and that is enough for them to lose their license that they need to sell firearms. A business like that needs to be squeaky clean if they are going to stay in business.

I know that Oregon is a lot more lenient on the procedure than other states. There was not waiting period, as there is in California or New York. I think that it look less that twenty minutes for me to look around, get my background check, get ammo, and pick a cleaning kit, make the purchase and leave. There was a point where I had both ammo and pistol in hand at the same time during the sale. That is against policy at a lot of guns shops elsewhere in the states. They have not had a problem here.

I really think that in the area that I live it has the least amount of crime of anywhere that I have ever lived. But it takes hardworking people to live in an area like this.

Biff #147 just saying hi!

Cmotif 01-17-2007 10:29 PM

Glad to see you here.

I have been checking this thread for days to see if there were any posts. Do you guys want to keep the IRT up and running? Then post. Give us something to chat about.

Currently I am in a holding pattern as far as any expenses toward hobbies until our house sells in Northern California.

Here is a photo from the driveway of our house in Lake Shastina. Do you know anyone who would like to like on a golf course, 1/2 mile from a lake, and wake up to a view like this every day?

If you want to see the house, click the realtor link. It is a little slow, so wait for it.
