Default Larrys RC Shelby Township

If you haven't heard, Larrys has moved to Shelby Township in the site of the old ABC Warehouse building off Van Dyke and 22 mile area.

It has taken awhile, but the track is finally open. Astro Turf track. It's pretty nice in my opinion and pretty big too. Plus the hobby store area is bigger than its ever been.

Just thought I would put the word out since Michigan isn't lighting the world on fire with indoor non-dirt tracks lol.

Just bumping this up for anyone who hasn't seen it. If you go to the website, you can check out live lap times and past races and racers laptimes etc. I haven't been on sunday this year yet but there has been a pretty decent turnout for tuesday nights!

Love the astroturf track!

Had a huge turnout this past tuesday for 17.5 blinky 2wd class. I think close to 40 entrys for that class alone. Fun times!

I'm coming out for the TCS race in 2 weeks, saw that you also have a turf track. I'm curious if the turf track will be open on the Saturday before the TCS race? Sounded like the timing system is shared between the two tracks, I don't care about my lap times, I just like driving on astroturf.

Id like to know as well. And using screws from another company allowed? Theyre just regular steel ones.

After searching some video online I think Larry Perf does have 2 tracks on site....on and off road. So I am assuming they will have practice for on road on SAT...........I guess.
About the screw....this is only a regional race, so aftermarket screw is allow....

Yes they have a on-road track for the TCS stuff "black carpet" and a off-road track "astroturf". The pit spaces for both are shared in a area near the astro track. I think you can practice on either track any time your want as long as racing isn't happening.

Be aware, on the weekends, a lot of the local kids go up to bash around on the astrotrack. I can't comment about the TCS one. For astro, if you want to really get some good practice sessions in, it is best not to go when the kids are bashing the traxxas slashes around the track. You can't get a consistent lap in, and even if you do, you will likely get run over by a basher at some point. It isn't worth the hassle.

The on-road is likely different, not made for that kind of stuff, so your probably all right there. Just don't be discouraged by the parking lot being full...probably a lot on the astro track as well.
