Had a decent turnout last weekend even though the weather was crap. Classes were: open 2wd buggy, open 2wd/4wd sc, 1/8 ebuggy and novice. If you're looking for a new track to race and have a good time at stop by on Sunday and join in on the fun. Practice starts at 9am races start at 1pm.

So right now it looks like 1/8 ebuggy is going to be the big class as another 5-6 guys are getting there rigs together. 1/10 2wd buggy has a few guys showing up weekly and we have a few for 2&4wd sc showing up and a good novice class. We are also showing some interest in 1/5 gas buggy or sc as well so if you or someone you know has a 1/5 scale collecting dust and want to put it to use bring it out. Next race weekend is this Sunday 6/23. Practice starts at 9am racing starts at 1pm. Hope to see some new faces.

Buck's Hobby Barn - Terre Haute, IN

Overview:
Buck's Hobby Barn is entering the 2014 off-road racing season with new and exciting improvements. The off-road facility features an on-site hobby shop. In 2013 the facility received a clay racing surface for the first time ever and the racing was better than ever. The 2014 season looks to be even better as the off-road track is gaining a larger, handicap accessible drivers stand.

Buck's Hobby Barn focuses on creating a fun, family friendly environment to provide the most enjoyable experience for both the racers and their families. The focus has always been providing a friendly and exciting place for experienced racers and entry-level hobbyists alike. In 2013 the largest class was 1/8 e-buggy, but the range of classes includes Novice, 2WD and 4WD Short Course, and 2WD and 4WD 1/10 Buggy. New classes can be formed with three drivers to fill a heat.

Buck's Hobby Barn is a great place to fulfill the need for competition, while maintaining a close environment. Racers are always willing to help racers of all ages from providing feedback to help working on cars. The most important aspect of R/C racing has always been making sure everyone leaves wanting to return for the next race.

Information:
The first date of racing is yet to be decided, so information will be posted once it's available. Racing should take place every Sunday, with announced exceptions. Some night races may be included up to once a month. The shop opens at 9:00am and the drivers meeting is scheduled for 1:00pm. Racing should begin by 1:20pm. Drivers can even register over the phone by calling the shop at (812)299-5773. We prefer drivers register by 12:30 to get entries into the computer and racing started on time.

Shop Information:
Address: 1950 East Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802
Phone: (812)299-5773
Shop Open: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Racing: Alternating Friday Nights and Sundays

This summer is going to be great! I have been cornering the market on NITRO stadium trucks- I now have 4, 3 GT2's, and an old school GT. I need some drivers for the summer season. If you are a racer at the barn, I have a nitro ride for you! If any racers are willing to commit to running one of my trucks, I will supply fuel, tuning assistance, and moral support. If you already have a nitro stadium truck, bring it- I will pay $5 of your entry fee in an effort to build the class.

Whatever vehicle/ class you are running, bring it to the barn on Sunday's for a great time with some friendly racers.

"Fun run and cookout planned for Friday, May 9th. Cost $15 all money raised will go towards final track prep and finishing touches on the new drivers stand. Come and join us for fun under the lights! Our racing season will start on Sunday, May 18th!" -- Kris

Hope to see everyone there. It is fundamental everyone sees the changes being made to the drivers stand and the impact it is going to have on our racing community. This is about helping everyone, and making the Barn more accessible to racers and bystanders. I guarantee everyone will be amazed at what is being done. Every little bit helps!
