Practice on Friday will be from noon until 9pm. Those racer's who practice on Friday will not be allowed to practice on Saturday morning before the race, in order to give the others who could not make it on Friday the opportunity to get practice time on the layout.

I am planning on making the trip for the race, weather doesn't look to promising for Sat.. 6 hour drive I would hate to get rained out.. I need to make a decision by tomorrow. Any thoughts?

WEEKEND WEATHER:
FYI. We've been following tropical storm Issac closely since Sunday evening. I was living in Miami Beach in 1992 when Andrew took out half of South Florida, and from experience kn
ow that it is impossible to predict the speed and direction of these storms this far in advance... especially after they reach landfall.
So, on Thursday eveni
ng we will assess the weather situation, and make a "Go/No-Go" decision and post it on all of our pages and threads online by no later than early Friday morning.
We have already looked at alternative weekends, and will work around other big events in the Tri-State region in the unlikely event that we do need to re-schedule.
That being said, we should be fine... Steve used his birthday wish, yesterday when he blew out the candles to put in a request for good weekend weather.
One final note... Steve keeps a huge mound of his "special formula" mulch on hand in the case of intermittent rain. We all grab shovels and put a quick layer on the track and are back to racing immediately.
In the meantime, think happy thoughts about the weather... it works.

We will likely post our decision on Thursday evening here for you. Also, check us out our facebook pages... "King's RC Raceway"... we have a very active community on there with lot's of additional and timely info.

Just noticed your post... see our previous post for info. You aren't the only one traveling a great distance, so we want to avoid anyone doing any unnecessary travel. One thing to consider... the Ohio R/C Factory is a terrific indoor facility and will be sporting a new layout on Sunday. It's only 20 minutes from our track, so our guys will be there in force if the weather doesn't cooperate on Saturday.

We do have plans for one last big race this year, but we will have to wait and see if we need to re-schedule this one to see if that can still happen. As for club racing, we run every other Sunday. Our guys (aka The Dirt Mafia) like traveling to other big races in the region, so it works perfectly... and keeps our attendance strong every time out. Pay us a visit when you can, I promise you will regret not coming sooner.

We completely understand... no worries. We would love to have you come down, anytime... we are really proud of our track, our facility and our racing community... our guys are fast as hell, as well as being just plain good folk. In all honesty, everyone who visits is blown away by the track... it's really hard to describe in words (or even video) just how fun King's tracks are to drive and especially... to race on. King's father started a motocross track when King was just a kid. He grew up racing, testing and building off-road tracks... dirt is in his blood. The first time I watched him on a Bobcat it blew me away... he never wastes a move, never has to rebuild or re-face a jump, and the distance is perfect every time... and he can build a huge layout in a less than a than a day. It is not a stretch to say that it is truly like watching Van Gogh with a paintbrush... but I digress.

IMPORTANT!!!! 2012 MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE:
---------------------------------------------
THE RACE IS ON!!!!!!!
We are going for it... the storm keeps slowing down as it moves inland. Every time we check meteorologists push the rain forecast back another day. As of now, intermittent rain is not expected to reach Cincinnati until Sunday... see report from the Weather Channel, below.
Again, King has a big stockpile of his "special mulch"... in the unlikely event of intermittent rain, we can quickly cover the track and be back to racing in minutes.
---------------------------------------------
"Isaac's Slow and Soaking Trek to the Midwest"
Saturday- Isaac's remnant low will likely spin from Missouri to Illinois as we start the weekend. This will bring some much needed rainfall to the middle Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley. Locally heavy rain is possible, so there could be some cases of too much rain too fast, which would result in localized flash flooding. Cities included: Springfield, Ill., St. Louis, Mo., Indianapolis, Ind. and Paducah, Ky.
Sunday- Remnants of Isaac continue to move east at a snail's pace. Rainfall associated with Isaac will continue in the Ohio Valley while spreading to the Central Appalachians and perhaps as far east as the Mid-Atlantic by later Sunday or Monday. Cities included: Cincinnati, Ohio, Indianapolis, Ind., Lexington, Ky. and Charleston, W.V.
