Default Hobby Haven 2012 Off-Road Shootout

Online registration: http://events.rcsignup.com/events/di...nt.cfm?ID=2658

Official flyer: http://www.iowarctracks.com/uploads/...2012-Final.pdf

Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/377235539001760

UPDATE ON 8/30/12 Our 43rd confirmed sponsor for the 2012 Shootout is Genesis R/C Products http://genesisrcraceway.com

UPDATE ON 8/7/12 ----> After much discussion with local racers we have decided to offer a Stock 2WD Stadium Truck class this year at the Shootout. We will have trophies for the top 10 plus TQ, and like every other class in the program there must be a minimum of 7 entries on race day in order for us to run this class. So please sign up today!

The biggest off-road race in Iowa is just over 3 months away and I'm happy to announce that JConcepts is our title sponsor for the 4th year in a row! Along with JConcepts we have 42 other great sponsors which is up 9 from the previous year. So this year's Shootout will be bigger than ever!

Last year was the 1st time we have gone to an all electric event, and even with the threat of rain we still smashed previous year's attendance numbers as we saw a record 225 entries! Just for comparisons sake, the 2011 Futaba Electric Challenge in IL had 104 entries, Round 2 of the Short Course Showdown at Trackside in WI had 165 entries, and the Short Course Nationals in CT had 220 entries. So the Shootout’s race numbers are pretty good considering all of those events got more publicity than this one. And this race is becoming a regional event as it fielded drivers from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, South Dakota, Illinois, and Ohio.

This year will also feature more class sponsors. As they did last year, X Factory will give away a free X - 6 Squared conversion kit to the highest finishing driver in the Stock 2WD Buggy class who is not already sponsored. And our newest class sponsor is Tekno RC. They will award a sponsorship to the highest finishing driver in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class who is not already sponsored.

There is a free pit towel guaranteed to each racer with a pre-paid entry submitted by August 24th. (Limit one towel per driver). Flyers will be available at Hobby Haven around 5pm tonight. So spread the word and I hope to see you at the Shootout!

Here are some great gift certificates from Outerwears. If you are lucky enough to win one you are entitled to 1 free pre-filter of your choice. Just follow the instructions on the certificate and they will hook you up. And we also got of pile of banners from them too.

Next up are some 50% and 30% coupon cards from Castle Creations. If you win one of these cards you can go to their website, add the item of your choice to the cart, and then checkout with the coupon code applied to receive your discount. This gives you the option to choose the product you want and someone might be lucky enough to walk away with more than 1 coupon card that weekend!

Keep checking back here for more updates!

Got a few more door prize updates for you all. 1st up is Viper who sent us some nice gear this week.

2nd is from our 1/8 Electric Buggy class sponsor Tekno RC. They donated this nice V4 Brushless kit for Associated RC8B buggies.

Here is a better picture of it assembled so you know what you are looking at. We will give this kit away at random to someone from the A Main group for the 1/8 Electric Buggy class. So if you want a chance to win this kit you need to make the big show first!

Plus, Tekno RC will award a sponsorship to the highest finishing driver in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class who is not already sponsored.

I have another update for the Shootout tonight, and believe it or not this one actually doesn't involve more door prizes!

It was confirmed today that JConcepts driver Dave Duncan will be flying in from Florida to provide product support and race with us at the 2012 Shootout. Stop by in the pits to say hi and also make sure to check out the latest JConcepts gear.

Also, I'm happy to announce that X Factory's Paul and Chazz Sinclair will be attending the Shootout this year. This will be the 3rd consecutive Shootout that Paul has attended so make sure to welcome him back, and also check out X Factory's unique SCX - 60CF mid motor conversion kit for the SC10. I'm sure he will also be running in the Modified 4WD Buggy class so possibly we might all get to see the final production version of the X -7 4WD buggy that they have been developing.

Only time will tell so make sure you are in attendance that weekend!

Finally, one of our new sponsors for the 2012 Shootout is Hexcrews. They have donated some nice magnetic pit mats to use when wrenching on your ride.

More in the works, keep checking back here for the latest!

Also, today is the last day that you can pre-pay your entry fees online or at the store to guarantee yourself a 2012 Shootout Pit Towel. Every paid racer will get on of these towels for free, but we do have a limited number so there is a possibility we will run out on race day.
