As well as any other information that entrants & visitors to the event will need to make their stay an enjoyable and memorable one.

For those of you visiting from overseas the following information may be of interest.

Queensland offers a huge variety of activities to the visiting racer and their family.

One of the beauties about visiting Brisbane is that you can pretty much treat every day in this sub-tropical city like a leisurely Sunday! And in this city, Sunday does not mean the shops are closed and the streets empty.

On the contrary. Brisbane, seven days a week is full of vitality, colour, and plenty of options. Whether visitors are into shopping, art, dining out, soaking up the sun or simply enjoying the beautiful Brisbane River, our city has much to offer.

After dark, there is always plenty of entertainment in Brisbane, and a seemingly endless choice of things to do. Aside from the 24-hour Casino, there are night-clubs, pubs and wine bars to socialise in and meet some friendly Brisbane locals!

Ask around for the places to go - an intimate sidewalk jazz bar, a blues club in a restored church - just follow the sound of music and people enjoying the balmy evenings.

Brisbane city is not only a great destination in its own right: It is an ideal stepping-off point for a range of day tours - into the surrounding hinterland of South East Queensland Country or the vibrant coastal regions of the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast including Noosa & Surfers Paradise. Just ask a local to suggest where to begin. For those staying on after the event it is a short flight to North Queensland and the world famous Great Barrier Reef or stay on and take in the Indy Carnival 2006 on the Gold Coast.

For more information on activities to do before and after the racing has finished make sure to visit http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/

There is also more detailed information and links to Brisbane and Queensland tourist information on the official 2006 World Championship website at http://www.200mmifmarworlds.com

Kind Regards

Default Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund Donation

The organising committee of the 2006 IFMAR 1/10th 200mm On-Road World Championship along with the committee of the Queensland Radio Circuit Car Racing Association Inc would like to thank the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund for their kind donation of funds to purchase our new race control building.

Without the proud support of the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund projects such as these would be difficult if not impossible to undertake.

Today the curbing for the pitlane was installed. The contrator uses a machine that puts down a very dry concrete mixture. This is then covered with a concrete finishing slurry and trowelled smooth. Images of todays work can be seen in the Photo Gallery section of the worlds website.

Default 1/8th Scale to run at the Pre Worlds

1/8th Scale to run at the Pre Worlds

The 2006 1:8th scale Qld Championship has been re-instated as an event to be run in conjunction with the 2006 IFMAR 1/10th 200mm On Road Pre World Championship.

After consultation with AARCMCC and in light of the slightly lower and expected numbers for the 1/10th pre-worlds AARCMCC has agreed to sanction the Qld 1/8th State Championship as part of the Pre-Worlds event.

From a Host club perspective there needs to be a minium of two heats to conduct the event and competitors must be a financial member of an AARCMCC affiliated club.

Any 1/8th drivers who are interested in competing in this event MUST contact the Chairman on any of the numbers listed below as soon as possible for instructions on how to nominate. Entries will close on 31 January 2006 and NO late entries will be accepted.

If you have already nominated for the 1/10th and you intend to run both scales you will still need to contact the Chairman.

The Organising Committee regrets the late notice and confusion that has occurred over this event but in the end the best outcome was achieved. We would also like to thank Peter Ellis for reconsidering the AARCMCC decision.

Kind regards,
Doug Barber

Default Virtual RC Track Release Imminent

Virtual RC have been hard at work putting the finishing touches to England Park Raceway with the track now in final testing.

The track and it's associated buildings etc are currently represented in VRC before any upgrades had taken place.

Keep an eye on the VRC webste over the next week or so for the release of the track and start practising for the upcoming Pre and World Championships.

We will be supplying VRC with all the updated data of the new track, pits, buildings and banners after the Pre Worlds and they will then be releasing an update to the track to bring it up to current specs in time for the World Championship in September.

The organising committee would like to thank VRC for their support of the 2006 IFMAR 1/10th 200mm On Road World Championship by including the track in their excellent simulator.
