Those super low turns motors really hurt today's EP equipment. That's why I like GP and stock EP now.

The 8-9 turns are usually only good for around 6 packs after you cut the comms anyway so you have to have a lathe handy. I can easily get 20+ packs through my 11 turn and still get away with 1 skim to clean the comm!

One question for GP racers.... what hardest foam tires are you using for PYC, EGR?

just want to know what is the highest and safest gear ratio i could go up to on my mr4tc with a 12t motor? im using 22/78 now...i was using 26/78 but the batt and motor are sh!t hot, i had to have 3 fans just to cool off the batt!

but the car didnt show any lack of acceleration, but its really fast!

PS. or do you think i should just get a 10t or 9t motor instead?

do they make 10x4 or 10x4 and 9x4 or 9x3?

They have a 12T limit for racing over in Europe. Looking at some of their setups people over there are using 5.x total car ratio...... that sounds totally crazy!!!!!

999- don't try 5.x total ratio unless you want a new car!! Go by the colour of your brushes! The MR4 does not have very good motor cooling compared to some of the graphite cars.... you like tub chassis.... thats what you have to live with!!!

The heat from the motor would have melted your chassis!!!!

Were do you normally run the cars. For PYC a good 11-10T will be able to keep up with a 8T. For EGR an 8T appears slow!!

Best bet is probably go with a 10T but expect to have to true the comm regularly to keep up the performance.

hehehe...well...from the 26/78 gearing...i dont think its hot enough to melt the chassis....and besides...if that does happen...it would melt off the negative line to the motor first! and there so much heat sink on the car...i think its enough to cool everything off!

dtm, i saw the new SV10 finally, from the latest Jap magazines. Unforunately, Kawada follow Yokomo/Tamiya, and it is only a conversion kit which cost 15,000 yen !!!!
