Mount the front body post from the front shock tower and not bumper!!!

Another Xray!!! No, actually I'm taking quite a liking to the 414M! But I'm afraid there will be a new 414 just around the corner!

dtm: What are the necessary additional option parts which must come with the Xray kit. I was told that, i.e., front one-way, belt tensioner, a set of 4 orange spring. How much is the front one-way selling in Hong Kong? How reliable is the kit's center one-way & other parts? Shall I get the option center one-way as well? Does the car have good power consumption, i.e., longer run time compare to the Yok-SP.

I should have listen to uncle Chan for getting the Xray when I was in Hong Kong 2 months ago.

No that was just on a straight 414 not the 414M. Its just that I would really like a 'competative' Tamiya!!

You only really need the front one-way and harder white springs. The car comes with the orange springs already but they are probably too soft. Some of the second batch cars had quality problems with the front belt which meant it required the front tensioner. Xray reckon they have sorted this. I have not had to run the tensioner on my first batch car. It is fairly easy to make a front tensioner yourself with a fixed servo horn anyway.

The front one-way sells for a list price of HK$234, 6mm with lighten spring steel cups! Its a work of art for the price!!

The optional centre one-way is more of a design improvement rather than an option. I would imagine that new kits will come with this anyway. The original problem is really easy to fix, the one-way bearing slips in the plastic pulley. Just take it apart and epoxy the two together... you no longer need the 'optional' part .

As for power consumption it is no better or worse than any of the other cars available.... much more dependent on your throttle finger. One thing is that the bearings that come with the car has grease which is too thick. You can either run the car for 30 packs or take the bearings out and soak in a bearing cleaner and use normal bearing oil. That will short cut the run-in process!!
