Default Most popular RC Class

Hi Guys,

Iíve been curious about RC activities in HK and I would like to know what are the most popular RC classes in HK. EP or GP, which scale, are the most popular ? What would be the Top 5 ?
Any links to RC track website or Online shops could be highly appreciated !

Thanks in advance for your return of info

This is a good start !

So Guys, any other comments or opinion?
Is there some merging class such as rock crawler or formula1 (re-issue)?

Cheers

we have few others like the rock crawler and formula 1 and Mini class , but nothing solid because no purpose build track for them due to lower popularity.

12th scale electric is starting to get popular, i've seen quite a few pan cars running... i'm more of a nitro guy but i'm tempted to do electric with the pan car myself...
12th scale nitro is also kicking off..

but then again, 12th scale is not as popular as the 10th scale

All right, Thanks a lot for your comments and post.

Are Nitro/EP buggies also popular in HK ? More than onroad/touring?

Cheers

Most people doing on-road in HK. There used to be a very good off-road track in HK but closed already. Now people just play offroad at TKO area and racer will travel to China for races.

Questions?? good ol hobby

Hi Guys,

I get pretty bored during my day-off & holidays. I would like to get back to my old hobby, RC Electric cars. I'm kind of left behind now on what's going on the RC world. The last time I had my RC is AVANTE,Super Ten, M01,& pure ten. Would you guys be kind enough to help me out some query I have.

1) Is TAM TRF416WE highly recommended for touring car or do you guys have any other brand to recommend here in HKG?

2) Is Brushless ESC and Motor advisable now a days?

3.) What is a competitive ESC and Motor recommended aside from NOVAK/LRP etc...?

4) What is a good wall charger brand?

5) Is Futaba 4PK advisable for Electric Cars? Or any other brands???

Thanks in advance...

mike

this is just my opinion based on what i notice around guys running on the track.

1. TRF416 - very competitive car, definitely one of the top cars currently out there, lot of options parts... other brands i see are x-ray, associated, serpent

2. brushless is the trend nowadays.. no more comm lathe and motor break-in, less maintenance, you get more playing time than brushed

3. Speed passion, Mamba have also good motor-esc combos

4. for electric touring cars and racing, wall charger is not recommended to get the best out of your battery. a good charger keeps you at par with the rest of the pack
check-out the much more, hyperion, lrp chargers

5. 4PK - also one of the top notch Tx out there... you can't go wrong going with it.. other options are 3PK, M11, DX3R/S. go with the 2.4GHz module... crystal are now "way of the past"

as i mentioned.. just my 0.2

Talking gr8t info!

Hi RevMaxx,

Thanks very much for a great info...

I'm now just weighting two options, TRF or Associated base on parts and option availability. Maybe in few days i finally decide.

Cheers/mik2
