First i must congratulate you. Second, i think that even if you are far from him, you can send him a message that you are always there for him, or sot. Kinda poetic. I also have a child who studies on other country and i try to make her life easier. For example she often ask me to top up her phone as she talks to much(mostly with me), so i use the services of Estonian company to Top Up Mobile or Buy Gift Card at least. You can Buy gift card. For example, for mobile phone or some game or app maybe. It's not that hard. Oh, and one detail, these services are for people who uses cryptocurremcy mostly, but i think we are modern people, so you should have one, right?
