Default Racers in LaGrange Area

Ok. I have located a possible location for some off road rc in LaGrange and possibly some on road. The Troup County Rec Center has a BMX track that the facility manager tells me could be used for RC action.

I want to see if there are any drivers in the area that would be interested in getting a regular race day set up.

As for onroad, there is an inline hocky rink in the building, i am going to ask about running my XXXS to see how the car hooks up. There appeared to be a lot of rubber on the floor from the skates so I am hopeful.

I am in Athens but I get down that way a good bit. I would be up for some off road action. Tracks are hard to find.

If you get in indoor set up I might be interested in heading down that way. I don't think it would be that much further than going to TFB for me.

LaGrange is about 1 1/2 hours south of you on I-85.

Do you ever run at the Sugar Bowl in Sugar Hill?

No, justed moved into town and haven't had a chance to find tracks yet. I've heard of SugarBowl - do they just have a track or a track and hobby shop?

Do they race electric, gas or both?

I am new there myself so I do not know if they do electric. Nitro yes. As for the hobby shop it is sad. It looks like at one time it was a top notch shop but now they have a few parts. The track is open on Saturdays for pratice and racing. Here is a link to the Sugar Bowl forum:

IF you want to run offroad track opens around 8 on Saturday, racing starts around 11. Hope to see you there. Look for me. I am running a XTM Mammoth and I stand out in a crowd

If you ar elooking for local hobby shop B&B Sales in Snellville is ok. Fred is kind high but then ebay has spoiled me on prices! lol....There is also Hobby Town in Duluth.

Nikos,
I'll put in a shameless plug for Toys For Boys here too. No, it's not a sex shop. Indoor carpet for a little while longer, dirt and asphalt tracks outside.

I forgot about TFB (apologies). It is over in Kennessaw and thre is no easy way over there from Athens...I HATE TRAFFIC! lol...The pics on teh website look great. When do they start outdoor offroad racing?

Another track fairly close by is Rod Slingers south of Atlanta and there is a track in Columbus at Hobby Town. Hope to go there this weekend.

There will be off-road racing at the HobbyTown in Columbus this weekend (weather permitting). Usually they don't race if it looks like rain or if the forcast high is less then 50 degrees. If you are comming from out-of-town, you might want to call the store first, just to be sure.

Tell us more about the LaGrange track! I live in Harris county, so it wouldn't be that far for me.

F150's what time does the racing start at Hobby Town in Columbus? What classes do they have. I run XTM Mammoth normally in Unlimited class but at SugarBowl they run all MT in one class.

Sign-up starts at 12:00, and the races starts sometime after 1:00. All the MTs run in the same class. Revos are the most popular right now, followed by Savages and T-Maxxes. They also run 1/10 2WD gas truck (the most popular) and electric trucks and buggys. Usually all the electrics run together.
