Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and just found out Hot Shot RC is only about 20 minutes from me. I've watched a lot if youtube videos of the sc races and it looks like a lot of fun, so I think I'm going to build a truck and come race with you all. I have a few quick questions though. What are the classes and specs if each class and what does it cost to race?

I'm kinda new to electric, so any pointers on motors, batteries, chargers, etc. would be appreciated.

I would look into the SC10 line of trucks. Hotshots sells parts for them and everyone can help with setup.

They run open at Hotshots so any motor but it has to be a 2 cell lipo.
If you go by the track talk to Keith he will help.

So any 2wd or 4wd truck will do with my choice of motor and esc?

I really like the sc10 and that's probably what I'll get.

I would get a 2wd.No one really runs a 4x4sct at Hotshots.
Yeah...Any motor and speed control. Most don't run any lower than a 8.5.On there track a 13.5 is as good as a 7.5.

For hotshots I'd do the 2wd sc10 or a 2wd buggy. They are the largest classes right now. I run 2wd buggy with a 7.5t motor but in reality it's way to much motor for there. I actually just put my 13.5t in a few minutes ago. If you plan on doing outdoors I'd suggest a 7.5t or 8.5t and just tune it down for hotshots. I agree speak with Keith or come out Friday night or Saturday for the offroad race and see what everyone is running. Viper electronics are great, tekin, etc. I use dualsky which isn't well known in the states but is very good stuff for half the price of other brands. If you go to www.evohobbies.com and tell Jeff kevin Schmenk sent you he will hook you up.

Or support the track your going to race at so you have some place to run. Get a rtr sc10rs and it comes brushless with a lipo and charger. Everything but a transponder (lap counter) to go racing. Even has good tires from the get go. I think its about 400$ or so.

Everything is packed. I am actually nervous to try the car tomorrow night. Only the 3rd time I have run mid-motor. The 1st time went ok but I drove poorly and the second time the car was just too loose to push hard but that was also at Loganville.

See you guys tomorrow night.

I was just on their website and it looks like they've got a dirt track now. Is that correct?
