Oh its cool. Will just be hard on new comers to hobby that will have to buy 1 to get into it is all I was thinking. Already a hard sell to some with car cost, to add the transponder too. But I do understand the cost of house transponders arent cheap too.

Since ive been gone so long not able to keep up with stuff new in rc. Is it still basically the red amb personals out or are their more options? I keep seeing a small black kind advertised on here in ads. Being I have to buy 3 or 4 want to keep it as cheap as possible ya know

Yes MRT transponders will work. Turtle Trax gets them but they go almost as quick has they get in. They were around 75 dollars. Keep an eye out for used ones sometime you can catch a deal

I pretty sure that all the tc classes will be using rubber tires. Anything from 28deg through 32deg should work fine.

Spend the extra few bucks and get the MyLaps hybrid.....they will be compatible with the MyLaps RC4 decoders when released, MRT will not be!

I know that AMB systems are the industry standard. I don't understand, particularly with an indoor track, why spend that OUTRAGEOUS amount of money on an AMB system when a "I-Laps" optical system works just as well and can be set up in minutes, moved in minutes, for $500. It works absolutely flawlessly, with all types of software. These transponders that cost $90 are put together by some chinese communist for 10 cents, if that.

Cheaper is not always better. Specially with timing systems. The AMB system is proven all around the world. I would not trust any other brand.

Cheap prices or high prices don't matter. whichever it is it should be something your comfortable with because it you who is spending your money on it.

I do agree that some cheap things aint as good as the high price items but i do prefer cheap......
