Default Electric 1/8 Scale Racing '11

So, who is in for Electric 1/8 this year. I spoke with Charles one of the owner's of Loganville about getting this class started. If we get enough support for the class we are going to start with 8min quals and 12min mains. Here are the folks I know who have bought electric 8th scales for this year:

Blane Allen - RC8Be
Bo McCain - VE8
Steve Smith (Revo Stevo) - Xray XB8
Judd Stephens - Mugen MBX6 Eco
Michael Roy - Nexx 8
Zach Rudolph - VE8
Tony Rudolph - VE8
Photo Racer - VE8
Gene Sameuls - RC8Be
Shannon Amos - VE8
Jamie Harris - Mugen MBX6 Eco
Stoker - Vorza
John C - VE8
Adam -RC8Be
Rfury - ????
Alex Pilson - HB D8/Tekno v4
ChadRacing - Xray XB8
Paul - Vorza
Greg - RC8BE
Juan - Losi
Nick - Hyper 9E
Pascal - Hyper 9E
Mark - VE8
Bill - RC8E
Mike - RC8E
Gio - Z car conversion
Dan - Jammin X2
Matt - Vorza
'Q' - RC8E
Nick Jones - VE8
Samos - VE8
Michael Simpson RC8Be

Let's keep adding names to the list and lets shoot for the following dates at Loganville:
Feb 12th
Mar 5th

Adam has one too and will run when he can. I don't have electronics in mine but hope to have it ready by spring "too many projects right now". John C also picked up a Campells car as well.

I know the "too many projects" deal. I may buy up Jeff Jackson's Kyosho Inferno VE. I just have to see how things go over the next few weeks.

Default Update to Info

Final decsion will be Charles on 8, 10 or 12 for mains, but I suggested 8 min quals with 12 min Main. 12 minutes should be a non-issue for someone running 4S with a 2650 kv motor. The class shouldn't have to go longer than twelve minutes so people don't have to buy high dollar batteries.

If I get into this, I would want 10 min mains. I really don't care how long the qualifiers are.

12 mins is the absolute limit for my 1700kv on a 5000 4s battery pack I found at dalton. Of course I'm not running the best packs in the world

Edit: but as well I think electrics marshaling electrics is the way to go and its not fair if the 1/10th guys are marshaling a 12 minute 1/8th main and 1/8th guys marshal an 8 min 1/10th main.. just my 2 cents is all

Well that and I just cant concentraite on my car for more than 8 mins at a time my radio starts to get heavy

8 quals and 10 or 12 sounds good. A few test races to see if people dump before 12 min and adjust if needed sounds fine. I know Adams car dumped around 12 to 13 min at Dalton with a 1700kv and the esc was at 50%.

12 minutes and a 2650/4s combo is going to be hard to do from a 5000 pack. plus that setup would be uncontrollable on a track!!

Default Cool

Great input:

This is the place to post ideas and how to get 1/8 scale electric going and not have to compete in the nitro class. I know a lot of you guys already have E8's, but I'm not sure who they are and if they even race. Just trying to get the class a little organized not only at Loganville but other venues.

My buggy will not be here till the end of the month and it is killing me. How many of you guys are going to run 1/8th electric at the GCS. I think that with the once a month GCS race and some local races this class could get some traction and be a permanent class.

Currently I plan on 1/8 buggy nitro and electric. ON the fence about SCT again. Need to graduate from Slash class. LOL. 3 classes last year is hard to do.
