open mod dont bother me any! I know @ the end of the day a 4wd buggy should beat me, but it does not bother me to run with them. I know If I beat all the Trucks out there in a bucket class then I won truck even though 1st - 3rd place was won by 4wd buggies handed me there tail lights. When I look at a score card from a bucket class you just kinda ignore the results from the other chassis platforms and worry about the platform your running. Bucket classes work, it helps the evolution of new classes. A open mod class will help get the same super fast guys out of Super Stock class so others can win podium spots. I could see an issue arising if prizes were to be awarded to winners (Trophy or Money) but till then it shouldn't be a big deal.

Will see you guys on the 29th

TRUE TRUE we ran 17.5 foam with 13.5 foam at nexus and scored them seperately. The 17.5 foam car was at times faster then the 13.5s.

To make it easier, I can put 2wd or 4wd in front of your names on the results sheets to make it clearer as to what each driver is running in the Mod "bucket" class after each race.

Something like this:

1. 4wd - Hank Hill 12 6:05.65
2. 2wd - Dr. Tran 12 6:07.39
3. 2wd - Peter Griffin 12 6:15.41
4. 4wd - Ned Flanders 12 6:22.84

and so on.......

Hank needs to pick it up. Those 2wd's should not be that close.

You have to take into consideration that Mr. Hill's Buggy isn't powered by LiPO. It uses clean burning Strickland Propane. Yep.

I'm ok with a "bucket" class. Doing the score sheet like that is perfect except Hank cut the track.

Even running a truly open class is there going to be any ground rules?
I know the track is all 1/10 scale but are 1/8 scale tires going to be allowed?

I agree. Too many classes is not a good thing in my opinion. But then, I'm a slow guy, I know the talented people need more of a challenge, but I started offroad with the slash and then it seemed like everyone wanted to go to 2wd buggy, so I got one of those. It seems like every time I get in a class, people want to create a new class...hmmnnn...maybe it's just me! Seriously though, it is more fun to race in large classes, it is a thrill and a goal for us slow guys to even make the "A" main when there is a large crowd.

I don't think the Slash class will die but it made a few of us want to run the more traditional offroad classes. An open Mod class would let people run the vehicle they feel most comfortable with putting down that much power. As far as tires I would like to stick with the tires meant for the vehicle. A 2wd,truck or 4wd all will be just about as fast around the track. The 4wd will be a little faster but with the track being smaller that limits how hard you can really run it.
