Dirt Oval In McMinville TN
#17
OK, here's the info. The track is located at 110 Fairview Road, McMinnville, TN 37311. You can mapquest that for directions. He will be racing every Saturday night. The track will open at 5pm for practice. Racing starts at 7pm. He will have a points race the first and 3rd week of each month. They have AMB scoring. The classes will be hobby, sprint, open wheel, super modified, and electric. I am sorry I don't know anything about gas classes. I am posting this for Rick, so any questions about the gas, call Rick at 931-808-1943. The electric is any chassis, 19 turn brushed or 10.5 brushless. All classes run foam or street tread rubber - no knobbies. If you have any questions regarding electric, you can call me at 931-235-5762. Rick has put a lot of hard work in the track, and this is a top notch facility. Plenty of electricity, plenty of room for parking and trailers, and a real laid back fun atmosphere. The lighting on the track is second to none, but you will need to bring your own light and table for the pit area. Like I said, plenty of room for tents and trailers.
Thanks,
Chris Cooper

I don't know about you guys but there are only two classes to race on dirt oval. 19T pancar with wedge bodies (ULTRA FAST!) and full suspension 2wd. (the most fun) Yes I know that touring is popular if the track is smooth enough (and this one is) and that's fine. Pancars are cheap fast racing. All the electrics race together there...right now. That could change with a few 10L's and RC10's mixing it up on their own. The sad thing is that the days of the Dominator 4wd are gone. That is still the fastest way around a track. Just too pricey now to race them. Someone told me that OFNA now has a dirt oval 1/8th car, that would be fun to watch. So what are we waiting for?

Oh yes, that's the stuff I was talking about. The suspension class is a hoot anyway just because of what they are. I know the "3 time I think" Ga state champ in Sprint cars still has his on the shelf waiting for a chance to race it again. This just in, he called me and knows about the track now...it's on! Gonzo will be making laps again.
If you are going to 2wd sprint why not grab an old RC10 and convert it? The custom works cars are great but not cheap and lot's of companies have the kits for the RC10 and stadium trucks.

Is Team 332 rising from the ashes to go dirt oval racing? The grand poobah will be racing MX but one of you should take that 22 and race it. Also have an electric for the other. BTW, how are you guys on the forum getting by on your own without the guidance and nearly two months knowledge of your mentor?

No, not really. I'm a little out of the loop.
