yeah i understand that completly. but being as OCD as I am its not something i want to do to my starter box. i know it sounds stupid to you but to me a hole is 1 thing......having to cut a notch is another. if i had a losi box id be set lol. but i dont. so im SOL.

what youve done is an awsome idea. you have pretty much everything is 1 place all at your fingertips. and if i switch boxes later i might be able to do it the next box i get.

I wonder if you can make a losi box work on your mugen......... The only thing I hate about that box you are running is no gel cell option.

Anyway, you don't have to do the notch thing if it bothers you that much, simply put the grommet 1/4 inch below the lid on the side rather than on the lid itself.

My box was built off TLC and OCD. As part of my design requirements it had to go back to factory with no major changes if I decide to sell it. If so, this is all you will see when I do...........

Dat's no hole, mon. Dat's da incredible wonder of touch up paint making a nice target for da bit to hit. (but you know that already)

Ofna box with power panel is a whole lot more reliable and way simplier for my Losi and lipo charger. But thanks for sharing your overflowing wealth of knowledge.

On what? the lipo, the starter box, ....? I don't let the lipo get low enough to lag, I just charge it at the end of the day, and I don't let the starter box get low enough to slow up any.

When I charge it is only because I can and should by the time I do it, not because it shows a performance drop.

I have a volt meter I am going to integrate into the box next just for kicks.

i was askin about the Rx lipo....ya ive seen some plain jane digital screens that go inline and will diplay voltage.....could be pretty trick to rig up to know the voltages at any given time.

I've never had the lipo dump on me, and I know I can use those 9100's all of practice or race day with no problems so it has never come into play on voltage. The problem with lipo's is that you never can judge their reserve capacity by voltage as they do not drop voltage until they dump. I'd use the meter to keep an eye on my gel cell so I know I can use the chargers, but there's no way to really know when lipo will dump since it holds steady voltage through the entire charge. With the regulator in place it is going to be 6 volts all the way to the end. Then........ DUMP!

I put the lipo to the test sunday though. I ran race day, then come home and broke in my new Nova so I had the throttle held at 35% open for constant 8 tanks which is about another race day and practice.

a 2 cell Rx lipo will NOT hold 8.4 the whole day.....it slowly drops over the day for sure.....i ushally come in at 7.6-7.8 from 3 5 min quali's and a 20 min main and w/e else messing around......then u can measuer the Mah u get from ur charger to figure it out.
