Talking Tamiya TCS Race in Huntsville, AL 5/19/13

Reposting this to help spread the word:

TCS in Huntsville, Alabama - May 19, 2013

E Mergent RC is honored to host a TCS this year and we look forward to seeing everyone.

We have started our 2013 race season and we have a resurfaced track (96' x 48') and we use RC Scoring Pro...the latest version. We have a large base of Mini Coopers, a growing base of TT01 and GT3 folks. Outside of Tamiya we also have a nice population of VTA. We welcome all classes at the local races and of course all TCS classes at the TCS in May.

Please visit with us at E Mergent RC Hobby Shop on Facebook for frequent updates E Mergent RC specific questions.

If would be so kind to drop me a note to let me know you plan to attend the TCS (tmwhitaker = rctech username), that would be appreciated. As usual, formal registration is hosted on the Tamiya website.

Thank you,

Tommy Whitaker

Thanks for the info; there are a few of us from Hotshots that are planning to go to this event. What tires are used at this location for Mini and the GT classes?

For club races it's open tire. For the TCS race it will be TCS rules, so that means Tamiya premounts. In mini the S-grips are working really well. I haven't had a chance to run B3s on this track yet but there isn't any other choice, I'm sure they will be fine.

The weather should be in the 80's-90's with chances of rain. Weather systems get a little weird here because we sit in valley so it's unpredeictable.

There will be a club race on Saturday. The track is open for practice Thursday and Friday also.

Signups for the Huntsville TCS race are now open on the TamiyaUSA website.

Please be aware that due to the shortage of premount tires you will be allowed to mount your own Tamiya tires for this race. You will still be limited to the B3 tires for the GT classes, and the S-grip radial or the Type A slicks for Mini. You will have the option of using any Tamiya wheel (yes dish wheels will be legal) and any (non-Tamiya is OK) inserts.

Tires will be teched at the event to prevent double stuffing mini tires and to ensure that everyone is in compliance with the spec tire compounds.

For the latest TCS information please watch the E-mergent Hobbies thread in the Alabama section.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in 6 weeks!
