Getting time to crank up the oval again.
The bump is gone, turn 4 has been completely rebuilt with new concrete poured.
Racers, contact Jim (email on website) so we can get a schedule announced.

Please relate any interest in Sunday afternoon racing to Jim to consider when to schedule.

Currently we are racing the RJ Speed (BoLink) Legends and Sportsman cars. Several of us do have VTA cars that could be run on the oval so bring it too. The option is open to run other cars (pan cars) as long as we don't extend the length of the race day too much but no nitro.
We use both 4 cell and LiPo in both platforms. Round cell is 2500 mAh max NiCad and the track motor. Lipo cars are the Florida Outlaw Legends rules, single cell LiPo, 21.5 brushless motor on a blinky mode ESC. Sportsman cars are using the '50's style bodies.

Geno,
Which is your largest class? I would like to get something to race. Just dont know whether 4 cell or lipo classes are more popular. Legends or Sportsman?

Thanks, Paul Davis

Hey Paul, both combinations of both platforms are popular.
Those of us who run Outlaw Legends at other places such as Strickland and Mike's Minnreg races have the Lipo setup. The old school racers who did not need to have not switched form the round cell setup. We have found at PHS that the track size makes it possible to combine the 2 platforms (Lipo and round cell) and they are competeitive with each other. We do run separate Legend and Sportsman classes.

Legends vs Sportsman? Hard to call. Many of us run both. The Sportsman are a little longer with the 10.25 wheelbase but do allow the option of various body choices. The Legend is still the original and perhaps just a bit more popular at this time however there is talk of others building Sportsman cars.

Best suggestion is to stop by and check it out for yourself to see what you like. Jim has track rentals but if you would like to race one call ahead so he is sure to have the car and batteries ready. Either way, give Jim a shout when you get a chance. I'm sure he would enjoy hearing from you again.

Thanks Geno,
I think I'll go legends and lipo. Can I run a 21.5 with that or is it the brushed track motor?
Sorry if I'm driving you nuts w/questions, just want to buy the right stuff.

Thank You

If VTA format is (or starts) running, I'd really like to give it a swing sometime. Is 21.5 the motor to go with?

Hello. I am restoring an old Bolink Renegade. I was told you may have some old parts for this car. If so, I would like to get up with you and see about purchasing them. Please let me know if you think you might have some parts. Thank you.

Now that brings back some memories! Raced the Challenger then got a Renegade and used the 935 swoop tail Porsche body. Loved that setup.
