Another great day of racing. Thanks to everyone that came out today. The morning saw many drivers exiting the drivers stand looking dejected and confused. The Village traction that racers were accustomed to had vanished. However after the South Florida sun began to bake the track, the traction returned. There was a lot of great racing through-out the day. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Hi There,
I'm a RC Drifter from Fort Lauderdale looking into getting onto Touring.
Could you guys point me to the right direction where to find the specs requirement to compete with you guys?
Also do you guys ever race F1s at VRW?

Welcome,

We have a great group of helpful guys. The most popular class is 17.5 TC, but we also have 21.5 TC, USGT, and 13.5 TC. If you are new to on road you may want to race 21.5 or 17.5. A lot of us use the hobbywing Justock XR 10 esc. It is inexpensive and very good. Get the program card. Most use 5000 mah batteries or greater.....if you have something similar I would run that at first. Do you have a touring car? If not there is a guy at the track that sells excellent new touring cars and they are great value and relatively cheap. I went this route because he always carries parts. My race day is not blown because Of a small part.

Feel free to ask specific questions.

You have to be a member of ROAR first off, if you go to the roar site you can see the required items to compete in the various tc classes. There is only one F1 that I know of at the moment but I will have one when Associated releases theirs.

Thanks for the help guys.
I have multiple chassis but mainly blinged out drift chassis (most based on Yokomo SD touring cars)
I actually have a small business where I do custom 3D printed parts for the niche RC Drift scene.
I'd like to buy something new but I could always repurpose one of my current chassis to make it competitive.
I will be picking up a ROAR license soon as I am forced to have one for Markham park. I am currently working on building a RC Drift track for them in the old nursery. The idea was to build a Drift track first but I would like to make it also suitable for 17.5 and 21.5 classes. Therefore to make sure I do this right, I think it's only logical for me to experience this first hand.
I'm also a technician for Acuvance (previously Keyence) so motor and ESC wise I will be covered, no issue there.
I guess I just got to pick the right chassis lol.
Is everyone running AWD or do you guys have FF and RWD classes?
I feel you SouthFloridaApp, I know oh too well these days with rare parts breaking and messing your whole day up. It's a daily struggle in drifting since most of the exotic stuff come from Japan anyway lol.
I will probably swing by VRW once I'm clear with the ROAR stuff. I haven't stepped there since 09 so I'm sure a lot has changed haha.

I have a question about the 21.5 class, is this like a beginners/novice touring class?

Yes, 21.5 Touring is intended to be an "Amateur" class. It's a good class to get started with.

I'm waiting for the associated F1 but I think 25.5 would be a good fit.
