The track will be setup for race conditions (ie wider straights and no infield) for 5 weeks up to the race.

The track was prepped for the Nats last week and raced on this past weekend. If you guys are into speed, this race is for you. Even if you do not have a vehicle, come out and watch just like you do at your local short track. Most of our locals are running electric, and our nitro friends down in Tampa will be coming up on 7/30 and/or 8/6. Racers from as far as Alabama, North Carolina, and Virginia are looking to bang wheels with Florida's best oval racers. People are running purpose built commercially available kits, custom home made cars, conversions for commercially available kits and the easiest way to participate... Touring Car. (4wd mod wedge).. just strap on a body and foams. We currently run them as late models (no side dam) and its probably the most entertaining racing out there.
Countless racers from here and abroad bragged about how they would show us how to get around an oval so we built one for you. Now its your turn to put up or take 2nd place.
Come get some...

Electric Sprints and EDMs are strapping mods in preparation for the race. A bunch of nitro guys are coming up 7/30 and 8/6.

This Saturday (8/6) looks to be packed full of high speed dirt oval racing. With the race only 3 weeks away racers will be getting in some much anticipated track time. Many of the classes are beating down the 38 lap door and sub 6s laps. Kits have been flying out the door lately and more are on order. The tampa area dirt oval racers are bringing their nitros up in force and much interest from Daytona has me wondering when some of those cars will be hitting the track. The guys from Jacksonville are putting up some great competition every week.
The Sprints are really turning up the heat in the last couple of weeks. Looking just like the real thing, sometimes flipping like the real thing, everyone wants to try one out.
EDMS... this class is something to wonder about. The lead changes so much that it really is anyone's race. All of the wins until 7/30 were had by the futuristic oval kits, a losi bk2 conversion took it this past weekend.
Late Models - this is the easiest way to get into oval racing. Get a late model body and toss it on your touring car. throw on some foam tires (most guys using nitro shoes) and have at it. In this class, RUBBING IS RACING.
Stock Truck, many guys have been taking advantage of the brushless systems in this class and now with the nats approaching and brushless only being allowed in open mod many of these guys are gonna have to make the switch or learn how to harness that BL mod power. These drivers put on a good show with both wide and narrowed trucks.. open wheel is open wheel
So come on out and check out what you have been missing.. Gates Open at 9am.

Due to the popularity of the Late Model (elec touring 4wd) class, we have added it to the racing program. Same rules that we have been running - TC, late model body, no side dam, foam tires, 19T open. If you have submitted an entry form previously, call up the hobby shop or get another one! If you haven't submitted it yet, just write it in.

Class specs rules on NewRed Hobbies
We had the best late model battle yet on saturday night. So close that the computer scored the win wrong. I happened to be sitting right on the line and watched it unfold. Leader goofed up in the middle of 3 and 4. 2nd place came around, they drove on each other to the line and crashed after. good stuff

There has been some questions about the NITRO EDM tire rules. The rule will follow FDOS Series rules of "ANY 2.2 TIRE".

Yes, there is. They usually run side dams as well. Check out all the results at NewRed Hobbies
We had a great weekend of racing. Many track and lap records were tossed out the window. Many tight battles for the lead and lots of smiles. I don't know if that was from the racing or the raffles. Congratulations to the winners.
I must thank our many sponsors and raffle donators. Please let them know you appreciate it...
Custom Works R/C, Slick Zero, Trinity, RC Driver magazine, Cooper's R/C, RCRP products, Banzai Motors, BlueBird Servos, RC Screwz, Kustom Graphics, Bullit Motors, Global Hobby, BSR Racing, Pepsi... and I must thank all the racers for their enthusiasm and the Ladies in Betty's Badabing Cafe. Thank you Ladies for breakfast and lunch.. and Thank you Betty for helping us make one of the best facilities in the country.
