should we concentrate on long and fast or
should we concentrate on short and tight?
do we want some big jumps, or should we go SC or should we go Rally?

====

Throw these in a blender and see what comes out!!!!!

Long back side, tight one end, wide on the other and rally in the middle.

Big jump for 1/8 as a single, 1/10 can make as two singles.

And the hard part, can be raced in either directions!!!!

Kinda like Lil' Dover Off Road but BIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A good option is to make a triple into a single/tabletop.
1/8 scale can triple over it, 1/10 can land on the table.
Step ups/step downs are fun as well.
Just remember, a track doesnt need a bump/jump/ feature every 5 feet, to make it challenging.

There used to be this KICK ASS track in polk county, it was in a spooky building like on scooby doo. Anyway there layouts always seemed well balanced. Thanks to this balance, big jump, rythm section or sections and an on roadish track line the track produced some spectacular races! THANK YOU KEN!
its all about balance.

Google or you tube "the dirt". Joey is a world renowned track builder. Take a look at how his layouts flow and the obstacle features.

This layout had a great balance

Ronnie...It's great to see you still have the passion for R/C and giving everyone the opportunity to express theirs; keep up the hard work!

Wasnt that your layout Paul?

The first layout there was definitely my favorite, it had all the elements for 10th and 8th scale, without a lot of compromise towards either scale.
