Welcome to Coral Springs On-Road track, the Track of Champions!!!!Many state and national Champions began their racing careers here, and we intend to keep the vision and mission thriving

South Florida is home to some of the best drivers in the state, national and world level!!! Our new track was designed after consulting with World Champion Art Carbonel, and his great ideas and suggestions helped us design our new track and layout which is so fun for nitro and electric driving as well.

Come out and have a blast running in our beautiful track, with great traction, and featuring some of the best nitro and electric drivers in the USA and the world!!!

Beginners: If you are beginner, there is no better place to come out and learn everything you need from the friendliest and knowledgeable drivers in town. We welcome all new drivers and love to help in anyway we can!!!

And those of you with racing experience, racing at our track will be soooooooo much fun and you'll enjoy the friendliest competition.

Classes: 200mm nitro Sedan, and 190mm Electric Sedan(10.5 and Open mod), and will soon be adding IGT, oval, and 1/12

Racing Program: 1st Sunday of every month, Dash 4 the Cash Series racing, Nitro and electric Sedan.

Practice: 2nd, 3rd, 4th Sundays of the month. $5 Practice fee required per driver.

IMPORTANT CLUB RULES-MUST READ
************************************************** ***********

Practice: All drivers MUST please sign up at the sign up table by the driver's stand, and pay your $5 practice fee due per driver BEFORE you put your car on the track. Super easy and quick.

ROAR membership: for your protection, the city and club require that you have ROAR insurance membership while at the track to cover you in case of accident, G-d forbid!!! ROAR membership is super easy to obtain, and its very, very cheap, only $30 per year, for which you can apply on-line at www.roarracing.com. Its easy to get your ROAR membership and the coverage is awesome, and super cheap. Please make sure to have your membership card and membership updated each time you plan to use the track for your peace of mind, as well as the Club.

SHoes: No open toed shoes like Flip flops, sandals, etc are allowed if your're driving at the track. the City and ROAR insurance requires that for your protection and safety, you must always wear closed shoes, like sneakers, etc.

MINORS: Parents/Guardians who bring children under the age of 14 years to the track must always be under the care and supervision of their parents an or guardians. Under no circumstance are children under 14years of age can be allowed to roam the track or climb up to driver's stand, or attempt to drive an r/c car without the permission and supervision of track directors and parents or guardians. Children can get hurt if left to wander or roam alone, or cause damage to themselves or others or their equipment if left unattended, and it's the parents/guardians responsibility to keep them under control at all times.

Radio Frequency: Please upgrade to DSM/Spektrum systems if you can. If you will still use AM/FM frequency radio systems, then you must make sure that you use ODD NUMBERED channels before turning on your radio system, and first make sure NO ONE else at the track is on that channel. If you are running even numbered channels, then you must FIRST get clearance from the off-road track directors to be able to use your even numbered channels, so that your enjoy glitch/interference free r/c driving.

To all our Beginner/Rookie R/C drivers:

We look forward to having all drivers of all levels come out and enjoy the Track!!! Especially beginner/entry level drivers, no matter the age

So please come out and and let us help you grow in this wonderful sport/hobby.

At Coral Springs On-Road track, we want every new driver to understand you are welcome and that we will do everything we can to offer support and guidance you need to enjoy, grow, and succeed.

For this reason, we are posting the following information your your education and benefit, to save you money and time, and help you experience how wonderful this sport/hobby really is!!!

First- Coral Springs On-Road track is an on-road course track built for the purpose of r/c car racing, just like in real world full-scale sport car racing(F1, NASCAR, SCCA, etc). The track is meant to be a place where the r/c cars are brought to test run, and tune, and have the cars handle as best as possible for the its driver.

For this reason, r/c car manufacturers make r/c car kits made for racing purposes, with many of the same suspension adjustments found in full scale racing machines. They are meant to used as racing vehicles which you can tune and adjust and get to handle to your style and liking, and are in no way "toy" cars found in Toys "R" US, or Radio Shack. Please have that in mind.

The main classes run are gas powered 200mm Touring Cars, or 190mm Electric powered Touring cars. Also very common are 1/12 scale pan cars, and Oval pan cars. Drifting cars are also very common as well.

So, the first thing you must do is see which class you'd like to run in...at our track, we are currently running the following classes:

Nitro/Gas Touring Cars- these are 1/10 scale gas powered kits, which and the most common ones are: Kyosho RRR, Serpent 720, Xray NT1, Team Magic G4RS, Mugen MTX-4, Associated NTC3.

Ready to run/Entry level kits are available from these companies which are fully upgradable to the "pro" level kits, which you can do as need over time.

Electric Touring Cars-, 1/10 scale electric powered touring cars, using Lipo batteries, or NIMH batteries, and the most common kits are : Xray T3, Hot Bodies Cyclone TC, Associated TC5R, T.O.P. Photon, Tamiya TRF 416, etc.

Ready to run/Entry level kits are available from these companies which are fully upgradable to the "pro" level kits, which you can do as need over time.


So if you're a beginner, dont go crazy buying something that's not being run at the local tracks, because you'll end up frustrated, and having no one to "race" with, and will end up wasting your hard earned money.

Make the smart choice and get into a car kit which is allowed and raceable at the track, made for the purpose of racing at a track, and that's being run at the track

So what should you get?

1. Always ASK what classes are being run at the track. This is very important because each class is set up to run cars of the same class, to make things fair and competitive according to the class rules. THat's how it works in real full scale racing as well, and its the reason why F1 cars drivers cant show up and race NASCAR racers with their F1 cars on the oval, and vise versa. Each car must race in its corresponding class. Same in the r/c racing world which is a copy of the full scale racing world.

2. Get the right Car for the Class: Well like mentioned before, if you like Gas cars, then 1/10 scale nitro cars is the way to go...this class is huge in the US and around the world, and Coral Springs On-ROAD runs race programs for
200mm 1/10 scale Nitro Touring cars. Please make sure you get a 200mm 1/10 nitro touring car kit to run in this class. The Same goes if you like to run 1/10 scale Electric Touring car kits.

Good entry level race cars: Hot bodies Cyclone S, Team Magic E4JS, Schumacher MI3.5 RACE version, Tamiya TA05, etc...these cars a fully upgradable to "pro" level specs.

3. Get the right Equipment: Dont just buy any Transmitter/Radio system...especially the cheap AM/FM crystal radios....today, most drivers use 2.4ghz DSM/Spektrum radio systems, which eliminates the use of old and pesky AM/FM crystals.

THe best and most economical are the following:

a) Futaba 3PM 2.4ghz F.A.S.T Radio: It's under $190, and works great!!! No glitching or interference problems and is fast and very user friendly.

b) Airtronics MX-3FHSS 3-Channel 2.4GHz Radio system: Only $150, and just as good and reliable as the Futaba, and very easy to use as well.

WARNING: If you insist on using Am/FM radios, the please make sure that you bring and use ONLY ODD numbered frequency channels when at the Coral Springs track. The Off-ROAD side uses EVEN numbered channels, and if you are using even numbered channels as well, you MUST first check with them and make sure NO ONE is using your channel...If they are, then you'll end up having to wait untill they are done, so that you can run your car, and not have interference problems which leads to accidents and damage.

Motors:

Gas Touring cars: make sure you get .12 ROAR legal size engine!!!

Electric Touring cars: Get ROAR approved Brushless motors and Speed Controls for 1/10 scale Touring car use. You can find good brushless systems from $150-300, depending on brand, performance, etc

the #2 track seems to offer the best alternative for electric and gas without it being to tight or difficult, great layout all of them really but my choice is number 2 !!!

Well, I'll be the first to vote. They are all great layouts with my favorites being 2 & 4 but I am going to go with layout #4
