Default FSORS race report

From fsors.com

Hurricane R/C Club did a great job geting the track into shape after a really wet week. By the time I got there on friday afternoon the track was all ready starting to groove up.
Saturday started off at the drivers meeting with a short sparing match between Luther Peterson and Tyji Armstrong. Both in Boxing Gloves, But the win will have to go to Luther. Tyji could not stop laughing after see Luther in those boxing shorts. That's one sight that will give you nightmares for weeks to come.
There were alot of First time drivers to the series and some returning that have been gone awhile. Glad to see both out have a good time.

When Qualifying was over:
JR Mitch TQed Gas truck
Steve Szykulski TQed Sportsman 1/8 Buggy
Ryan"SHOWTIME"Eckert TQed 1/8 Buggy
JR Mitch TQed 1/8 Truck
Joey"Batman" Perez TQed Monster Truck.

In the Mains:
The Gas truck win went to JR Mitch, Jason Ruona 2nd, Michael Delay 3rd.
This gives JR Mitch a 11 point lead over Ryan Eckert going into the next race.

The 1/8 Sportsman Main went down to the bell lap with Nick Westbrook leading James Tate on the last lap followed by Steve Szykulski in 3rd.
At the wire James Tate took the win by 1.21 sec adding to Tates' lead in the Sportsman 1/8 buggy class.
If I was James Tate I'd start to get a little worried, Ryan Rodiquez, Jason Fackender, and Steve Szykulski are getting pretty fast. With Steve taking TQ. Tate may need every point he cane get.

The 1/8 Buggy Main was a battle between Ryan, JR, Gene, and Leon. The Freight Train Started on the first lap and stayed that way for a loooog time.
At lap 27 Gene Hickerson went out, At 37 both Jr , Leon and Travis Scrambling droped out. Leaving one car on the lead lap to try and catch "ShowTime" Ryan Eckert. Jason Ruona came with in 8 Sec, but not good enough Eckert takes the win and the lead in the Points.

Called the most Anticipated Race of the weekend. 1/8 scale Truck was all of that. At the lift of the flag it started. Jr Mitch leading Gene Hickerson and "Little" Jeff Keeton through the first lap. The Lead change at Lap 13 to Gene but the lead was regain by JR a short time later. Jeff Keeton and Ryan Eckert going back and forth each trying to take 3rd place. At the wire it was JR Mitch with Gene Hickerson 2nd only .06 sec back. Jeff Keeton 3rd, Ryan 4th.

"A" Main Monster Truck was another great race to watch.
As I said Joey"Batman"Perez TQed. Mark" Raptor"Kobisk after winning the race in Mills Pond and Lapping the Field down there. Starts in the 5th spot. Pete the Greek qualified 7th. Now we've also the Dallas Cowboy Kicker involved starting from the bump-up spot. On the first lap Dave Warr takes the lead followed by Mike Brotherton. Then After that it all falls apart. Batman Back to the cave on lap 16. Dave Warr blows up his forth moter of the weekend on lap 22. Tom Avera also gone. Ford out at lap 26.
Beiswinger doing his best to try and stay out of trouble.
Up front the Greek, the kicker, and the Lizard are wailing on each other. Martin takes the lead, The Greek takes it back, Raptor get it for a short time. Then it's Martin again. The Greek wins it back only to lose it to Thr Raptor on the hill going into the last lap.
The Raptor take the win, The Greek 2nd, The Kicker 3rd. Scott holds onto 4th.

All and all a Great Weekend.
Thanks to our Sponsor "Jconcepts"
Also a special appreciation award from GSHobbys.com went to Tony Ford for a his work and qualifying 4th in the "A" main in Monster Truck.

Thanks again to Team Hurricane For a Great Job and all the water and coffee.
